I was lucky enough to spend most of Saturday, working with about 25 members of the Tampa Bay Harbour Lights Club, to help pull weeds and trim the trees inside the fence around Anclote Keys lighthouse. While we were there, the Coast Guard ANT from Saint Petersburg was on hand, solarizing the beacon. While many of you know that Anclote Keys was restored and relight last September, what many do not know is that the beacon has been dark since the end of September after restoration of the tower and oil house were completed. After International Chimney left there was no power on the island. The ANT team donated a set of three solar panels and the wiring harness needed to attach them to the batteries that the park service had onsite. With a little maintenance and a lot of hard work they were able to get the uncooperative light to start rotating, and after quite a bit more work, finally got the light sensor working so that the light will go off during the day and allow the batteries to recharge. Here are a couple of pictures of the work in progress.

Nice work, nice photos Eric. Nice of the ANT to donate their items and work, too.

Eric, I enjoyed viewing the images you have shared here. The lighthouse, Oil house and grounds look very different from the only time I was there two years ago. Great job, congratulations to all involved and Thank you for sharing these pics.
