Recently purchased a Burrows #496/5500 or 2563 if you prefer and the pc. did not state whether it was OR or WA, the price was right so I purchased anyway. As it was the piece was a WA. All the various guides state that the OR version was through the first 500-550.
I'm just wondering where the real cutoff was, maybe some of our fellow collectors have a OR in this # range that could shed some light on this subject. There might be some renegade #'s somewhere in this range that are either lower # WA or higher # OR. I guess I am just a little curious on where these numbers truly did change.

Thanks for any help, Mike

Hi Mike - way back last year (!) I had some surveys on the Lighthouse Keepers site and asked visitors to give information on various variations.

Here's the way it worked out by 9/7/98

Highest known serial number for "Burrows Island OR" as of 09/07/98: 69 (now replaced by your #496)

Lowest known serial number for "Burrows Island WA" as of 09/07/98: 713

Highest known serial number for "Burrows Island WA" is: 1975
