How many of you are interested in taking a cruise to Coquille River? Well, today, in the travel section of the Tampa Tribune, AAA ran a big ad for several cruises. The Holland America is seen to the left of the Coquille River Lighthouse....this is the second time that the ad folks for AAA have gotten info and pictures all mixed up....Did any of you have the same ad in your newspapers?

What really concerns me is the navigational skill of the ship captain. Where did he/she think they were? Not like Coquille isn't a fairly easy to identify light, especially in daylight.

Hi Dave and Derith, ... The Coquille River isn't that bad to navigate. You just have to watch out for a log or two floating by.

Here's a photo of "It's Only Money" cruising the waters of the Coquille River with Lorna and I aboard.

Isn't our Dennis Whelan reading? He is a AAA employee. Maybe he can help out.

I've just come back from a litle vacation to Charleston and Savannah.

I saw that ad last night catching up on my newspaper reading while watching the Olympics. (Love that Swiss jumper)

I'll have to bring that to someone's attention. Along with a more important complaint.

The hours listed for Tybee Island lighthouse are wrong. The new book just came out so it won't do much good, but I'll let them know anyway. They list the Lighthouse closing at 4 PM when it is open until 5:30 PM.

They do have the days right- it is closed on Tuesdays.

I'll be posting a little narrative about my trip later today or tomorrow.

Dennis
