For anyone in the Cleveland-Toledo, Oh area, you may want to take advantage of a great opportunity to sail close to the Lorain Harbor Lighthouse (HL207). The Lorain Port Authority will be holding their annual "PortFest" on June 12-14. The festivities include nautical and lighthouse art and memorabilia for sale, plenty of food and fireworks, and many other activities. But more importantly is the two 70 foot schooners which are brought in for 1 Hr and 1 1/2 Hr scenic cruises of the harbor and river. These tours will take you up close to the lighthouse for great photos along with other points of interest for around $7.50 per person. Normally the closest you can get to the light without a boat is from the adjacent marina approximately 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. You can call the Port Authority at (440) 204-2269 for any info, or e-mail me if you need help with directions, etc..
A good aerial photo of the light can be found at Jim Carigans home page at:
