It would be a shame to lose it, as all the lights that have stood there are still standing. It's a vital link in lighthouse history, possibly the only place in the country where so many styles are represented in one place.
Also, I see this: "...and removal of the existing damaged tower from the river bottom." Does that mean that they're removing one of the older towers, too?
