The new Lighthouse Depot, Early Fall 00, came in the mail today. The cover looked interesting and thenI turned to page 21. What is the view of those on the forum about this new product line of Lefton. Some of you may have already seen it, but I just did today. Derith

I think the concept is a great idea. I do hope that Harbour Lights will continue with their series in this area. I am tempted to purchase at least the Tucker's Island one.
I resisted it successfully in the last catalog. I don't know how long I can do so.
I know this is akin to heresy, but the Lefton lights in this case look very nice. Please don't throw me off for that staement. We all slip now and again.

A nice choice of lights. But I just can't see that white part on the Cleveland Light in the photo, even in the larger version of it in the "Lost Lighthouses" book by Tim Harrison and Ray Jones.
HL is definitely going to make more. At least one next year, maybe more.

I've got to say I was impressed with the look of them but it is only a photograph. In person, it could be a whole different story. I would like to see the Scotch Cap and Bullocks Point in person. The metal container box is a different approach. The Bishop and Clerks lighthouse would be one I'd like to see in the GBNF series.

I haven't seen any of the Leftons yet, but they do look good. If only HL would produce the Bullocks Point light in the GBNF series. Plenty of detail on that light, which translates into a lot of work to produce, but I believe that it would be a GTH (Got-to-have) masterpiece, expecially if done by HL.
I can dream caan't I!!!

Hey Mombo, Do you have some secret info about the next GBNF light from HL?
Has anyone seen any of these Lefton Lights up close and personally? Let us know how they look.
I must be a purist but I can't buy Lefton. Several friends have bought me pieces and I have returned them and used the money toward a HL that I was getting ready to purchase. Those other manufacturers are for my eyes only. Derith

I like the concept of the lost lights. I really hope that HL might think of producing some of those pieces that Lefton has. Shinnecock Inlet looks real nice.

Shinnecock LH would make a great Hl. The Long Island Chapter of USLHS has adopted it's image for it's logo to signify their goal of LH maintenance and restoration. It was the sister of Fire Island but it's color was 'red'.

What do some of you think about the wood base with the brass name plate? I personally like the bases. There have been many times that people have looked at my collection and wondered where the lighthouse was located.

I think it's a nice touch. i also like to be able to tell people the name and location of each light. It loses something if the info is right there for the looking. It would be helpful in many instances, though.

I don't feel it's necessary as it would undoubtedly add to the price. It would also add to the amount of display place required. If you can't remember where they are, you can always display them with the tent cards. Personally, I don't think I'm ever going to get the Carolinas straight. Good thing there aren't any lights in the Dakotas!

I can't say how all of them look in person, but I have seen the Tucker's Beach.
It's an nice piece, but it is not of the same quality as Harbour Lights. I have added it to my collection of non Harbour lights items. most have been given to me or are premiums for donating to different lighthouse causes.
I don't intend to make it a habit, but i do like this particular piece.
