Good First Day of the real millenium all,
How many of you saw the Today show this morning? A feature of today's show was a visit to the town of Lubec, Maine. Lubec is the eastern most town in the US and the first place the sun comes up on the US in the morning. The video tease for the section was a beautiful shot of West Quoddy. Later in the feature, West Quoddy was shown several times and as the camera showed shots of the town and the fishing vessels going out, East Quoddy was visible also, if you were looking for it, which I was.
What a lovely sight for all Today viewers to see, a lighthouse on this first day of 2001! It may be the spark that ignites many more lighthouse lovers. Let's hope so.. Derith

I'm sorry I missed that portion of the Today Program. I had it on in the background but I was trying to do a few chores so I wasn't paying too much attention to it...darn! One of these days I'll have to pay a visit to that light way up north. Bob

I was channel surfing this morning and caught West Quoddy. Very nice piece about Y2K and what Lubec was expecting but never happened last January 1. I did see Mulholland Light, but I guess I missed East Quoddy. After seeing this piece I would really like to go back.
