From Bob Trapani, Jr., Executive Director of the American Lighthouse Foundation:

Hello Everyone,

Race Point Light Station on Cape Cod is looking for a large steam whistle to place on exhibit inside the station's fully refurbished brick whistle house for educational purposes. The Cape Cod Chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation, which cares for Race Point Light Station (and Long Point & Wood End lights on the Cape as well), has a Radio Beacon Clock to trade for an available steam whistle. If a large steam whistle is available and your organization or contact is unwilling to trade, maybe some sort of long-term loan situation can be worked out with the exchange of the two artifacts.

In any event, a large steam whistle would be an invaluable addition to the whistle house at Race Point -- and the artifact, which would be seen by the many folks who both visit and stay at the light station, would serve the public as an interpretive exhibit.

If you can help Race Point Light Station with their quest to locate a large steam whistle, please contact Cape Cod Chapter president James Walker directly at:
