Does anyone know how I can find some information about the light at Whitby? Have logged in three times trying to get this post out. Hope it makes it this time.

Thank you so much for the site. I did learn that the lighthouse that I have is not the Whitby light.

I moved here from a new thread.

You're not thinking of a lighthouse on Whidbey Island WA are you?

http://www.island.wsu.edu/lths/index.htm

That would be Admiralty Head

It may very well be the one in Washington State. I went to the site about the Whitby,Enland lighthouse, and the one that I have looks nothing like those shown. The one that I have has the spiral black and white stripe, with a small cottage at the base, a top with a walkaround beneath the actual light.

Went to the Whidbey Island, WA site. Very nice, but also not the one that I have. It could very well be that this is just a generic lighthouse. Nice to have any lighthouse for my collection. Maybe some day I will come across one that will look like it.

Take a picture and post it. I'm sure someone who frequents the CF will be able to tell you if your replica is of a fictious or actual light.

cool Bob cool

A digital camera is on my wish list. I need to have it for the trip to the west coast. Thanks for the tip. Now, if there is another way for me to put a picture of the lighthouse on this site, let me know. I am willing to learn. smile

Regular camera - regular film...
Either scan the traditionally developed pictures -in which case you need a scanner for you computer
- or you can ask your photo developer to give you your developed film in computer ready format on a floppy disc or cd.

See this thread for info on how to upload a picture. John is even giving you space to store it right here on lighthousekeepers.com. When you want to display the image, click the "image" button at the bottom of the post a response screen and put the full address into the pop-up box. Click OK when you are done and it will insert the proper formatting to display an image.

Thank you so much for your help, but I am going to stay away from trying to send pictures for now. Going to do some more moving around in the computer to get familiar. I have on the task bar right now, the file name and when I click on it, get the pictures. But cannot get it to transfer to where the BROWSE is.
