I'm not a big fan of GLOWs, but there's one that's in bad need of a re-do.
Sandy Hook---the nation's oldest active lighthouse---really needs a makeover. The details are ho-hum, the lantern room isn't accurate, and the railing around the light is actually sculpted crooked in spots.
Strange that the original piece actually seems to be more accurate than the GLOW.
HL wisely resculpted Portland Head, Boston Harbor, and S.E. Block to match the quality standards of their current pieces. They should do the same with Sandy Hook. It really looks like the ugly stepsister when it sits on shelves next to the other pieces.
It's served admirably for 4 years. Let's see it get the upgrade it deserves.

Gee Bill, I've got Sandy Hook Glow A2827 and Sandy Hook LE #5149. I think they did a great job on the Glow except for the fact the lantern room isn't accurate. My LE has a lot of paint worn off while my Glow is still like new. Bob

Bought it on the secondary market, Digger. It just came to me that way. It wasn't MIB and it had been displayed. But it is a LE Sandy Hook and I needed one for the collection. It does have character! Bob
