How many of you East Coast folks would like to see Harbour Lights sculpt Race Rock? It is one of my personal favorites. How about you?

Race Rock would be great! I saw this one on a LI lighthouse cruise and thought it was quite a lighthouse. Do you think they will coat the roof with "white stuff" like the real one. I think the color comes from all the birds in the area. Am I right?

Race Rock would be a great addition to HL. I am hopeful that Plum Island will be another additon to HL as well.

How about the birds on the lighthouse?
This is the picture that is suppose to be on the HL Gallery index that doesn't connect yet. (hint to John)

Race Rock? I sure do hope it's in our near future.

This topic has come up before. I bring these old threads back up to show that there is a lot of suppport here for this one. Lobbying can't hurt, and nagging seems to work around my household. :-)

I agree! Lighthouse digest had it on the cover a few months ago. Would be a super piece even with the white tint!

Lets hope Race Rock, as an HL, becomes a reality. Most people think it looks like a "haunted house". Yes, the "white stuff" was brought to you courtesy of the local cormorants.

Great light that would look super in everyone's HL collection!

I agree that the LH has a certain "spooky"look to it.I like it.Why does the link photo caption refer to this as an "infamous" LH?

Maybe because of the difficulties encountered and the length of time it took to construct the light?

I was very pleased to see the 2001 lineup of New England lights, especially Sankaty Head (one of my favorite lighthouses). Now I will again turn my attention to one of my favorites from the Long Island, NY area, Race Rock.

I thought I would bring this thread back up to the top to let everyone know what a great HL Race Rock would be. If this light was made by HL as an edition size of 6500, it would retire within a year, maybe sooner.

Keep your fingers crossed, Race Rock lovers!

Bob

Rumor has it Bob, that HL has tried to model the LH in the past and it was not up to their standards. There is hope that they will retry in the near future. Lots of nooks and crannies! Wouldn't a tin roof be awesome?(hint)

It's been awhile since I entered my "wish" for Race Rock. I thought I would bring this thread back to the top with the hope that HL will notice it and give Race Rock future consideration, if they haven't already.

Think RACE ROCK!!!

I'm happy you brought this thread back up, as just last evening I was admiring pictures of Race Rock. I'm new to HL and to lighthouses in general, and have been pouring over any/all books/information I can find, and this particular light is absolutely fascinating to me! It's beautiful and creepy all at the same time. I think it would make a great addition to the collectibles line (in addition to Sand Island, my sentimental favorite!)... Thanks again!

A Race Rock sunset. This lighthouse gets my vote again Bob. It would be a great piece to add to the collection.

I do hope so, Bob. I've been pushing for Race Rock for a couple of years. Those who have viewed it in person know why this would be such a great HL.

Looking forward to seeing you at the regional tomorrow

There is just something about Halloween and Race Rock that make the two a "natural" together."Watson, the game is afoot."

It is Great, Bob!! I had a hard time limiting the amount of tight shots in the animation, there was so much to show. As it is, I used 13 different shots which is a couple more than I usually use (limit the number to keep the page from taking to long to load up on slower internet connections).
