If you had your choice of the prizes you could win which would you like? I would like to name the lighthouse that HL will make in the coming year. I wouldn't refuse the others because they are great prizes, and would be a lot of fun. But to name your own lighthouse, I think that is so cool. You see the collector's choice it lasts forever. What do you all think? Chuck ------------------ bigdragon

I agree with you Chuck, all the prizes are great, but I would prefer to have a lighthouse I wanted made by Harbour Lights too! Like you said, its forever! We have two here in the forums that did just that! Your name would go down in the history of Harbour Lights - Just like Mombo and Jakers! It would be cool to sign pieces with your name like Bill does! Right Mombo and Jakers!

I think naming a future Harbour Light would be great. I don't have much luck with contests though. Hope anothe forumite wins this year.

I would love to be able to name a future HL. If not I would like to receive one of those AP's. Time will tell, good luck everyone! Bob

My choice would be to name a Lighthouse.
However, my wife, Esther, would prefer me to win the Lighthouse Trip.

I'd have to go with choosing a lighthouse to be made. The trip would be great but I wouldn't have anyone to take with me!

I'd like the trip but I don't win anything. As for Shirin, I'm sure you already have a waiting list after that comment. Pick a lighthouse - just ask past winners Mombo and Jakers how much fun it was! And how hard it was to keep it secret from 'inquiring minds.' I hoping to use all my luck on the hg tv home in St Michaels!

When Kim called us last year to tell us we had won the Register to Win grand prize -- I thought that it was the "pick a lighthouse for Harbour Lights to make" and I was thinking of all kind of things -- to make Mike happy, could it have green water and a lightning rod? (he loves the lightning rods & green water varieties). But after Mike got off the phone with Kim, he told me that we had won the grand prize -- which was a lighthouse vacation which we will be taking this October -- going to Maine. So to answer the question......we've won the trip, now I think it would be kinda neat to pick a future Harbour Lights. But I really don't expect to win again...however just picked up five lights at our dealer so we can get them in the mail to Harbour Lights for the contest! Patty (& Mike)

How often do you have a contest where most people want to win a second prize instead of first (orGrand)?
Try and explain that concept to your friends and family.
I think this is the pinocle of Wackodom.

Sure beats 2nd place in a beauty contest. That only gets you $10.

I would LOVE to win the trip! Although chances are that my husband wouldn't be able to go with me if I did. Anyone out there willing to take his place should I win????? But don't line up for that chance, because I don't win! And I guess you all know by now that If I could name the next Lighthouse it would be Sand Island, AL Stephanie

It's supposed to be a big secret.
There are people on this list that just love to figure out what the choice would be once it is announced who won.
This past year it was not tossed around so much because the winner of the prize was not a connected collector (they may be now for all we know- it could even be you)LOL

Hey Digger, ... If you win and have trouble making a decision as to what light you want Harbour Lights to produce, give me a call and I'll recommend a couple of East Coast lights. Bob

Just in case they don't pull my name out of the hat it's time for plan B. OK everyone listen to me, you are sleeeepy, very sleeeeepy, you are relaxed, very relaaaaxed. OK now repeat after me El Morro, make El Morro. Once again, make El Morro. OK you will wake up when I snap my fingers, "snap".lol Chuck ------------------ bigdragon

Managed to pick up 4 lights from my dealer during the entry period - hope four chances are better than one.
I'd have to agree with the majority of Wackos - second place is good enough, I'd love to pick out a light for Bill & Co to produce. In addition to Michigan lights, I'm partial to lost or decrepit lights, and include them in my collection - St Helena is my favorite.
Anyone ever hear of the Saugatuck, MI light? Sometimes it's referred to as "the old oxbow light". It stood at the mouth of the Kalamazoo river on Lake Michigan, about 10 miles south of Big Red, until a tornado took it out in 1955. That would be it.
Lighthouse vacations are great, but I can do that on my own without winning a vacation. I would recommend Big Bay - it's great. Have Saugerties reserved for a night this Aug.
Of course ANY A/P would be the centerpiece of my humble collection.

I would like to name the HL of my choice. Unfortunately, I have been too busy with work, planning a wedding, and looking for a house to buy any HL's lately, so it will have to wait until next year.

Sounds like you're busy John! Good Luck! I have three at this time I would choose if my name is picked. One from the Northeast, one from the Southeast and one from the West Coast. No one will know my picks, I can keep a secret! [This message has been edited by Randy Kremer (edited 04-03-2002).]

Well, Randy, it looks like you and I were tie for no prize (lol). The winners are posted on the HL website and our names aren't listed. Look at it this way, we don't have to worry about which lighthouse to pick to be made as a HL. Congrats to all the winners! Bob

Right you are Bob! My pick would have been no problem though! I have one that's right at the top of my list! Maybe next year if HL doesn't make it this year!
