I think that is a great idea to have an actual light up in that lantern room, and have wondered for several years why one hasn't been made. I also collect Dept. 56 villages and there are at least 2 lighthouses in the Heritage Village series that have openings and enough room to accommodate a light. Various enterprising persons have made lights for sale, in colors and even blinking sequences. It sure brings a village layout to life to see the light. The same thing could be true of HL using slender fiber optics maybe. Visualize Paul's new display case with the lights dimmed down and all those lantern rooms gleaming with lights!! Our brand new NE HL Collectors Club will be having a speaker ( a spy from the Dept. 56 side of fantasy) to give us a demonstration on how we can create more realistic settings for our lighthouses. The end product some time will be members creating a diorama setting for their favorite light. Opens up all kinds of fun speculation.
