I think that HL should make a model of the Chandeleur lighthouse which was destroyed by Katrina. As you can see by Kraig's photos (link below) it was quite a beautiful lighthouse and it's way unfortunate that nobody cared enough to try and save it. I would love a HL of this light so that it won't be forgotten.

What a shame such a wonderful light was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Althouth its design was a simple one, Chandeleur Light has a certain mystique about it worthy of a "gone but not forgotten" HL.

I know nothing of the history of the light in regards to popularity. It is popularity that sells HL's. If Harbour Lights thought it would be a good seller, they would probably consider it for a future HL. If not, it may be forgotten forever except in the minds of those who loved it.

Keep in mind that the first Collector Forum Exclusive is well on its way to being made. This very special limited edition of 500 will be in our curios early next year. If there is to be a second CF Exclusive, perhaps you should nominate Chandeleur Light. Talk it up and make your pitch! It is the registered members of the CF that decides what will happen if we have a CF Exclusive II.

The pix of Chandaleur are intriguing. They appear to show how erosion had taken its toll over time from 1945 to 2005. No doubt it was doomed even before Katrina. Seems worthy of recognition, though. Are you familiar with Minot's Ledge? HL did a marvelous rendition of it as it might have appeared shortly before its demise.
