Did anybody else notice that the last piece in 2003 was 299?

Anybody have an ideas on how HL will honor their 300th LE piece in 2004 ?

I think the 300 LE should honor something that hasn't been done before, like representing 3 lighthouses on one piece, however smaller in size than the HL200 Navesink.

An exceptional candidate, that many collectors would agree, would be the "3 Sisters" in Mass.

(Perhaps this post would fit better in the "Wish Forum")

Any ideas ? You have the next 6 months to ponder, assuming 300 is released in the first half of 2004 introductions.

I always felt a combo-interlocking piece of East Chop and West Chop on Martha's Vineyard would be a nice HL 300. They are two well-known and popular lights in the area.

Good point about HL 300! It really does make you wonder if something special is planned.

I'd like to see an interlocking combination of the Pointe aux Barques MI Lighthouse and the Pointe aux Barquest Life Saving Station.

N.B. HL300 will actually be the 200th LE since they started with HL101.

I'm moving this thread to the Wish List

East Chop and West Chop Bob? We'd need a section of water in between those two. Maybe with "It's Only Money" cruising into the harbor??? smile

Three Sisters of Nauset would be nice.
Especially if they were interlocking.

My vote:
an interlocking Race Point Lighthouse & Old Harbor LSS! But my guess is the decision is already been made!

How about the three lights in the harbor/canal at Duluth, Minnesota.

That would be a great (BIG) piece!!!

I'd like to see them do Point Bonita with the Bridge and tunnel.

It would have to be big to do it right.

I've got to believe that the Three Sisters could be done. When I won the contest and asked Kim if they could produce them along with the keeper's house she said no way. But that was way back in '99. Since that time I'm sure HL has produced quite a few pieces that they didn't think they could make a few years ago. It would make an interesting piece with the 3 lights and wouldn't have to be all that large as the towers could be placed somewhat closer together, probably long and skinny?

Thanks for the pic, Sue. I would think those who would like to see this piece done would prefer it as it once was and not in their current position in a field in a wooded area.

About 2 years ago Nancy was on a NELL tour of Cape Cod with us. She made sure she photographed a lot of pictures of what's left of Three Sisters saying that it would make a great HL. Time will only tell.

I'm not sure, but I think the pic Sue posted is of the original towers. Therefore, they may be in different locations. The currrent ones I believe are round, and these are not round to me.

I took a look at Sue's picture and agree. They look to be square to me.

In these pictures they are round. All of the other pictures I find, they show round towers.

Yes, it's really strange as in that CG photo the towers sure don't look round. But on Jeremy D's site they look round?

The Three Sisters Lights in Eastham would be great....and I agree when they were along the cliff instead of the wooded area they are in now. They would be a wonderful addtion to Harbour Light collecters and the Cape Cod collections! I'll keep my fingers crossed!
