If this has been mentioned before, please forgive me. If so, then perhaps it should be mentioned again. How about a H.L. with an Autumn scene? It could be a beautiful model with the trees all in colors with multi-colored leaves on the ground - an apple tree with a few of the delicious fruit lying around it. H.L. could choose from one of two themes: 1. FOOTBALL - having a football on the stoop and a jersey hanging on the porch. This jersey could be of the local High School hero or of someone's favorite Pro team (a New England or Great Lakes NFL team such as the Patriots, Bills Giants, Jet,Colts, Browns, Lions, Packers, Vikings or DA Bears). 2. HALLOWEEN - A jack-o-lantern on the front porch and a black cat on the back. When I look at some of my present lighthouses on the shelf, I imagine what they would have looked like with a fall motiff. Ohio's South Bass Island would have been perfect but I am sure that forum members could come up with many more. How about it? Joe

Joe I like that idea.A Halloween thought-Price`s Creek in NC.They could call it the "Headless Lighthouse of Stinky Swamp".They could have a scene of one of the 3 pound mosquitoes connected to a weeping willow tree.Too bad that a LH can`t be made with a nighttime scene. But then you couldn`t see it. I think I would rather not have the sports memorabilia added to the lighthouses. The football is ok or other things people might have played with during a picnic.
imho,
Sean

I would love to see a lighthouse with trees with colored foliage, and decorated for Halloween. A bunch of cornstocks by the door, a Jack-O-Lantern and a brissily (sp) black cat on the front porch. I would also like it to be a New England lighthouse I can visualize just what it would look like!

Maybe with some of the bird species indigenous to the area?

OK, one of you Photoshop hot-shots. Just what would White River MI look like with Fall colors? Start here:

I hope that HL keeps the presentation of "our" lighthouses mainly to the point without cluterring up the piece with too much secondary (non-necessary) stuff.

I agree with you pharo... too much "secondary stuff" cheapens, and draws your attention away from the main focal point (the light itself) IMHO. By the way... welcome aboard. Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

An HL with autumn leaves sounds great...however the football (and I love football, especially college) and the holloween stuff doesn't have much appeal IMHO.
