To see first 50 or so posts about Harbour Lights making Fresnel lenses: Part I Fresnel LensOriginal Post by Jodster.... How about scale models of rotating Fresnel lenses? These could even have the cable mechanisms for winding the lenses.

Hmmm... could there have been something on the truck from HL HQ to Atlanta? Seems that to be the rumor of late. Inquiring minds want to know! Can't wait! Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Sorry guys, but I don't think it is a rumor when Bill says that they are coming out with a Fresnel lens, it is a fact. He didn't say maybe, he stated that yes they are going to market a Fresnel lens and he described it very throughly. Get the location prepared for it's arrival, there is a spot in one of "the twins" cleared, cleaned and waiting for it or..... maybe it will look better on the table in the center of the room or..... maybe it should go on the table next to the mini cabinet with the thumbnails or........ just how many do I really need or... Well Paul... I'm just going to have to make room for the Fresnel. Like the proverbial future father awaiting the arrival of his new born, I'm pacing the floor for "little Fresnel" to come into my world. Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Does anyone know what scale the Fresnel Lens replicas will be? If they are not exactly to scale, how about some quick dimensions. Bob

Bob - the fifth order Fresnel model on a wooden base stands about 7" high. It's a beauty. I'll have a page posted about it tomorrow - Saturday, May 6.
Heading to Atlanta NOW...

Saw this at the Atlanta expo, and it is just fantastic! As John said, it is a fith order fresnel, with working parts... Got to have one. From what we were told it should ship in July, and be around $80... Way to go HL... Rusty

Most definitely Bob. IMHO, the Fresnel piece will add to anyone's HL collection. I look forward to receiving mine, hopefully around the middle of July or so. Art... thanks for the link! Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

The Fresnel Lense on display in Atlanta was fantastic. The detail was great even down to the greenish cast to the glass in the orginal lenses. Am patiently waiting for mine to arrive.

See my note elsewhere on the forums - HL has notified reps this WILL be an autoship and the balance (about 1500) will be allocated. If you are receiving an auto-ship from a dealer, you should be getting this. If you've placed an order with a dealer in the last two days, better check with the dealer this week. Why do I get the feeling that a few of these will end up with little lightbulbs inside them? I can just hear my co-workers now if I was to place a fifth order lamp on my desk

Sorry, but no little lights inside of this one. It's a solid casting. It certainly looks like it's 'lit' when HL had a baby-mini-halogen spot on it at Atlanta.
Rumors from HL are they sure would like to light one of them - maybe not the next, but the one that follows.

If you haven't reserved one of these with your dealer yet, don't wait! I visited mine today and both her autoships are spoken for, thankfully one is for me. Think this one will go quickly!

At the Door County event I asked BY if the Fresnel lenses were going to be marketed as seperate line, in the sense that A/B is a line to itself. He said 'no' - they'll come out under the Harbour Lights name. He also referred to marketing materials for the lens as 'mistaken' in referring to it simply as a Fifth Order lens, noting there are several different styles of Fifth Order lenses. And happily, this is not the only one - HL will be doing other styles - Bill seemed to suggest these too will be sized as Fifth Order. I think the lenses are way cool.

A brief update from HL - they hope the Fresnel Lenses begin shipping to dealers in June.
Only 4,000 of these little beauties - if you haven't reserved one - do it today! Remember how quickly the Canal set went. If you're looking for one, you may check w/ my dealer 'The Stone Fence' on Midvale in Madison, WI - they have a couple of their allocation not spoken for - as of yesterday.

Bill confirmed at both seminars that more Fresnel replicas are in the works - a series, in fact.
They are working on ways to light them as well.
Be sure you get the first in a series.

Speaking of lighting them..... Is the lens portion of the new issue hollow or solid?

Hello Ed14. I asked the same question earlier, and John said they were a solid cast. I was hoping to put a small bulb in mine.
