In last weeks Chat 3/23/00 Mo stated they were getting ready to pick the 2001 Christmas piece and asked what we would like to see. ( Apparently they already have 2000 piece and will reveal it later)

John suggested Rock of Ages. Which I agree would be a great Christmas Piece!

Other suggestions were:

Caribou Island
Old Michigan City
Also good choices

Any other ideas?

Whoever suggested Caribou Island must be a genius! I vote for Caribou Island.

I would like to see Eaton's Neck as the Christmas piece.

How about a snow covered Logerhead Key FL?
I think that would be a really good choice. I can just see the snow covered palm trees!!

I agree with Dale.....I think that a snow covered "Rock of Ages" Christmas piece would be nice. My 2nd choice would be "Sentinel Island" (in Alaska)...."before" the double-keepers building was burned down.

Battery Point Light, Crescent City, CA. And they do put up Christmas lights.

I like Rich's idea, Battery Point would be great. Since all of the others have been east coast or Great Lakes its time for a west coast piece!

1995 Big Bay Point, MI
1996 Colchester Reef, VT
1997 White Shoal, MI
1998 Old Field Point, NY
1999 East Quoddy, NB, Canada
2000?
2001 Battery Point, CA

Anybody know where I can find a picture of Caribou Island? Haven't seen that one.

How about combining a "Gone But Not Forgotten Series" lighthouse with the 2001 Christmas piece such as the "Cleveland Lighthouse.. What a great looking lighthouse that was.. How in the world did the people of Cleveland let that lighthouse get torn down? What a fantastic Victorian style lighthouse.. If this is not one of HL's Christmas pieces, I sure hope it will become one of the "Gone But Not Forgotten Series".

(Picture can be seen on page 141 in the "Lost Lighthouses" book by Tim Harrison and Ray Jones.)

Is this the Caribou Island light we're talking about?

Thanks for the great link Mombo! It's so small I'm not sure I'd like to be there in a bad storm!

You're the best Mombo, setting all us lazy people up with the links! Very different style lighthouse. HL will have to do it, whether as a regular or X-mas piece.

I guess I'm partial to east coast lighthouses. I like Kingston-Rondout or Hereford Inlet.

In all fairness, Christmas doesn't come only where it snows. If HL were to do a warm climate lighthouse with Christmas lights it would be kind of neat.

I agree with mombo. A warm weather light with Christmas lights on it would be nice. East Brothers Island or Yerba Buena Island would do nicely.

I agree with Mombo. I think that St. Augustine, FL would make a great Christmas Lighthouse.

In my quest to get HL to make this light, I would nominate North Light, Block Island, Rhode Island. The only problem is that it looks similar to the Old Field Light aka Christmas 1998.
