South manitou is a beautiful light, and I think it would make a great HL. The tower was designed by Col. Poe, and is a great example of his work in the Great Lakes. An interesting idea would be if they did one of the light as it is now, and another with the current keeper's dwelling with the lantern room on it's roof, as it was before the current tower was built. Maybe put both on one base. I'd buy it!!!!

Very true Dave, I'm surprised you remembered!!! Yes, a very kind ranger took me to the top of the tower and talked about the places he's seen working for the NPS, and some history of the light, it was a great time. Here's a photo I took of this, my favorite light.
