The Harbour Lights Rose Island RI piece for Collectors Society members who pre-ordered last Spring began shipping today. Shipping should be completed by the middle of next week.

Pieces are being shipped to the retail dealer specified on the special form completed when it was ordered. SRP is $70.

We had done some speculation that it might be possible for those who attended the Reunion AND who also ordered the Society version might be able to obtain a serial number that matched the Reunion piece. However, the logistics of doing this for a piece that is sold through dealers just wasn't possible to pull off.

I believe also that the decision was made to be fair to those who placed early orders for the Rose Island Society version hoping to receive a lower serial number. Taking approximately 200 of the first 700 pieces of the Society version to go to those who attended the reunion AND ordered the Society version would have bumped some people to higher #s.

UPS is now quoting Harbour Lights 7-10 days for ground shipments. This could get longer as we get closer to the Holidays.

Approximately 6,000 of the Rose Island Society exclusive were ordered. We'll have a more precise number after shipping is completed.

If you did not order one of these, by all means check with Dealers. It may be that retail dealers used their own Society membership(s) to order pieces to sell.

If you placed an order, be sure to pick this up promptly at your dealer when it arrives.

I saw a dealer with a Rose Island in the display case today, with an exclusive tag and a price of $110. The sign also said they were willing to take orders. Let the secondary market begin.

Bob, I bought one last week at my dealer for retail. Some are just greedy, I guess.

I saw a RIRI Society Piece at a dealer on Saturday. It had a $70 price tag on it. When I inquired about purchasing it the clerk told me it was a Society Piece and wasn't for sale. I thought it was too good to be true. I was going to buy it for a friend. Maybe I'll find another if I look hard enough.

That's the word from the East Coast where the weather has been better than some parts of California this winter. 60 degrees today with overcast skies...heading for the 30's tomorrow afternoon.

Bob, show them your membership card. Sometimes retailers are willing to part with such pieces as long as you're a member.

I stoped at a store last week to window shop and when I looked in the display case there was a Rose Island for sale at retail, but oddly enough there was a Tillamook next to the Rose Island with 3 separate signs on or next to it saying "not for sale", "members only piece" and "taking orders". So I bought the Rose Island.

FYI, it was in a locked glass case and no I didn't move the signs.

Thought everyone might enjoy the humor of it,
Mark

Reminds me of the time I was in a store admiring the Legacy signs. The blue one was marked NFS and the red one was retail. Naturally, I bought the red one.

Another time I was in a store in Little Rock with a Stonington Harbor marked NFS - this was after Port Sanilac had come out. I explained the Stonington Harbor was no longer the Society Exclusive and they said "OK" and sold it to me for retail.
