Some time ago I posted that I had found some neat lighthouse curtains for my kitchen windows.
(Since then I have learned what real lighthouse curtains are/were, after a bit of joshing by some of the men folk!)
Well, you guys don't have to read any further if you think that is the type of curtain I'm talking about now!
I have an enclosed entry porch that has 6 aluminum combination casement windows, 4 side-by-side on the longer wall and 2 side- by-side on the front wall. They combine to form a continuous run of window. As this was a former patio entry later enclosed the ceiling is quite high due to the steps going down from the inner front door.
This spring when I was spiffing up the porch in preparation for warm weather use I decided that valances atop the mini-blinds would help to "lower" that high ceiling. I'd check sometime to see what was available.
Yesterday, when shopping at my local Ames store I happened upon a clearance section which had valances only in that same lighthouse pattern for $2 each, 75% off! The rods were $1.79 so for less than $25 including tax I will have another goal accomplished with the lighthouse pattern as an added bonus!
(Both Ames and K-Mart carried these at one time. They are manufactured by Lees Curtain Company, Bridgeport, Conn.)
