I just wanted to know if anyone had any unique ways to display their new lenses. I was able to use mine while having dinner. Like a candle light dinner. But I just have them in my china cabinet now. Waiting to get a curio.

I have the Clamshell Fresnel with it's flashing light sitting on a battery operated turntable so that it revolves as it flashes!!!

I have all three lenses on the second shelf from the top in my main curio. They are the only pieces on that shelf. They really stand out that way.

After awhile, I might move them so that each lens is front and center on succeeding shelves. They are definite "eye catchers".

All three of my Fresnels are sitting on top of my TV. My clamshell is in the middle.

Just picked up the new ones today but from what I can tell so far I think that the closest to eye level that you can get them would be best. That way you get the best effect from the lighting, especially with the 3rd order lens.

The mountains of Murphy are still waiting (as usual, lol) for delivery of the latest two lenses. Would they make good nightlites???

On top of the TV. The curio is way too crowded to display them properly.

Each is in it's own glass display case, with the clamshell in the middle. I like the idea of the turntable, I may have to try that.

Need to get that Fifth Order lit somehow. Any suggestions?

Roger

Pharologst, the beehive makes a good nightlite, albeit a little bright...the blinking clamshell is a little annoying after awhile (unless you don't mind feeling like you're in a construction zone)...

Really good evening "Crappie" fishing lights. Drop them over the side of the boat and very visible for up to 5' in murky springtime Indiana lakes.

I'm thinking that you could get one of those yellow lights on one of those street barriers and use that as a calm shell. Not legal, but an idea.

I am concerned about leaving the batteries in my Fresnels. I want to have them there so I can light them up when I want to, but I am concerned about corrosion over time. Anyone else share this concern?

I think I had mention my concern somewhere else on the CF about the possibility of batteries corroding in their compartment.

Do batteries still do that? I remember leaving batteries in old flashlights and forgetting all about them. Then the time comes when you need the flashlight and it doesn't work. You open it up to check the batteries only to find corrosion and a ruined light.

I haven't put batteries in either of my lenses. Maybe someday I will just to see what they look like when the bulb is lit. Right now my lenses are NBL (never been lit).

Light them if you must but don't leave the batteries in for weeks and risk damaging your prized possession.

I think that corrision is much less frequent these days Bob. Those were the old Zinc batteries, mostly.

I would say not to leave the batteries in the case for many months without checking or using them. But weeks or a few months should do no damage.

Hopefully I will have my lenses when I get back have 2 spots reserved for them one on each side of the fifth order. I have a light the fifth order sits on and changes colors as it rotates gives a nice effect will look great with the other 2 on each side.Bill O'Brien Having a great time in Nova Scotia
