I have several signed pieces. I have noticed that on a couple of these the signature appears to have faded over time. Perhaps from sliding on curio glass. Any Ideas out there on how to protect the signature on signed pieces.

Bill uses a permanent marker - Sharpie - to do the signings, I doubt it will totally fade away. Are your curios exposed to direct sunlight at any time during the day so that sunlight could reach the bottom of the piece?
If you're concerned, then purchase some acid-free paper at a framing or art supply store, trace the outline of the piece onto the paper, cut the paper slightly smaller than the outline and simply set the piece on the paper protector. Keep in mind the 'suede felt' that HL uses does keep the piece from sliding. The paper will take away that anti-slide protection.

Hairspray? I haven't tried it, and I don't think that I will. I'm not sure how that would affect the suede-felt or any other part of the HL that overspray might contact. Please proceed with caution!

I wouldn't suggest hairspray! If you get ink on clothing, hairspray can be used as a spot REMOVER. It will not protect the ink signature.

While I was purchasing a HL two years ago and as Bill as signing it, the store owner suggested hairspray. Bill heard it and said nothing negative. After two years the signature is great as well as the felt. Just a suggestion. Keep up the research.
