OK, I just saw the HORROR of what happens to a HL lighthouse that was run through a dishwasher, on another thread. I would NEVER do that myself(I have a brain and I don't have a dishwasher).
So, what is the best way to clean them?

I just use a a nice clean "blush brush" to lightly remove any dust that may settle on them in the curios. It seems to work well. Bob

It's hard to believe someone put a Harbour Lights through a dishwasher! I have a feather duster that I use on mine.

Guys, the piece that was put through the dishwasher was sort of a test. It was a damaged piece and John tried it for the heck of it, just to see what would happen. Dishwashing is not recommended!

Plus John auctioned it off on the Baltimore Reunion bus and RIP is the proud owner.

Has anyone tried using canned air(the stuff you use on your computers and keyboards), to clean their HL lighthouses?

Canned air has tooooo much pressure and may cause the paint to flake off, especially on the older pieces. I tried it!

Ya Rich,
Many thanks for your post. I also tried the canned air procedure.
I wish that I could remove wallpaper as easily as I removed the paint from the lighthouse. Thank goodness it was a duplicate.

I use a camera lens brush - the type where you squeeze the bulb and it blows gently on the model. I also use a little feather duster, one with soft downy feathers on it.
