I'm just noticing the bar code on the ELL that was raffled off. ELL When did Harbour Lights first start putting the bar codes on the LEs. I have a Montauk in my office and it doesn't have one. Wouldn't that make inventory of your collection easy! Bob

Don't know many people with guns that read bar codes. Or is there something out there that would make inventory-keeping easier if you have bar codes?

UPC codes (and related bar codes) were added primarily to help larger retailers use scanners to create inventories and in the selling process.
Bar code readers can be purchased as hand-held devices, even "pens" that can be swiped across the bar code - forwards or backwards.
Not coded into the bar code is the edition number, however.
