After reading about the Gray's Harbor variations, I naturally went home and started looking at my pieces to see if there was anything out of the ordinary. Well, guess what? On my Currituck #9284, the top window on the front of the tower doesn't line up with the others. This is the window at the very top between the bottom stanchions of the railing supports. Much like what you've been describing in Gray's, the window is approximately an 1/8 of an inch out of line. Maybe some of you guys with a Currituck in your collection could take a look and see if you have the same little glitch. I'd load a photo but don't have that capacity.

Sorry Paul, mine is that way too. I have a feeling that is the way they all are.

Paul,

Mine is also like that. By the way Currituck Lighthouse is one of my favorites to have visited. From the tower towering above the woods that surround it, to the beautifully restored lighthouse and grounds, with gift shop, it is a great experience. I bought my first Harbour Lights lighthouse after the visit to Currituck later that day and yes it was Currituck.

Okay, I guess this isn't a variation. Thanks for looking, though. By the way, engbrady, Currituck was my first purchase also. Visited Currituck on April 22, 1998, and Bodie Island the next day. On the 24th my wife bought me Currituck and I bought Bodie. That was it, I was hooked!!

Currituck was also the first lighthouse I had ever seen and ever actually climbed as well as my first Harbour Light purchase!

Gee! Maybe we should start a Currituck Club. It is a beautiful and imposing sight in real life and (as in most other cases) has been authentically captured by the HL artist. My own personal theory is that anyone who visits Currituck can't help but become a lighthouse enthusiast. Anybody else out there who purchased Currituck as their first HL?

Technically Currituck was where I discovered HL.
It probably would have been my first purchase but I had to be sure I could purchase a Montauk at a reasonable price. After finding Montauk, I called the LH gift shop to buy it.and became addicted.

Oh boy do I love Currituck too! I fell off my bike and broke my leg on MY visit to Currituck! And I STILL bought one! Although, we now refer to it as "Broken Leg Light". :-)

Now, don't jump the gun. Sounds like there's still around 9,49? some odd still to be checked. After all - if we stop looking now, who nows what we might miss. ;-)
