Saw the news about tornado in Kokomo. Anyone know if our friend Dave and his family are okay?

I have to assume all is well since he was on the Forums about an hour ago. He was on just before you were.

I emailed Dave and he and family are fine. The twister missed them by about 1 mile SW to about 1.5-2 miles SE.

Thanks for your concern, Mel. We are fine and were away from the tornado area. Sadly, this tornado followed approximately the same course as one in Nov 2013. The same subdivision took the brunt of the hit with lots of damage. Fortunately, again this time only about a dozen minor injuries.

And, the world now has one less Starbucks . . .

Glad to hear all is well with you and your's!!

Hey any chance that you might arrange another small group lighthouse tour of some sort - maybe for next year? I so enjoyed the Nova Scotia/PEI tour - very well organized and well priced!

Just about anywhere I guess except VA, WA and NC - I've seen most of those. WA with Pixie was great!

I've never been to Oregon, California, NY or Mass. Heading to Door County in October - staying in Sister Bay for 4 days, but don't know how many lights I'll see there given the time of year and it isn't a completely lighthouse adventure.

I am not to crazy about Florida or Texas no offense - I don't care for the heat/humidity. I've seen St Augustine and Ponce Inlet in FL and did go up to GA to see St Simon when I was in FL.

The only Great Lakes lights I've seen were the two boat tours during the Collector's Reunion and the tour to the UP, so there are options there.

I'll keep thinking on it though.

Cape Cod in September is gorgeous! You can stay at the Lighthouse Inn which is actually the old Bass River Lighthouse in West Dennis! Chatham, Nobska, Highland and Nauset Lighthouses are all accessible and Race Point, Long Point, and Woods End in Provincetown can all be viewed from a whale watching boat. (If you've never been on a whale watch, put it on your bucket list. I'm awestruck every time I see these huge creatures). Take another cruise to Monomoy Light and see the thousands of seals (and maybe a great white shark or two). Then there's the Lighthouses of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket just a short boat cruise away. One can even see Hyannis Harbor Light and what's left of Bishop and Clerk's on the boat to Nantucket! On the north side of the Cape Sandy Neck Lighthouse can be seen by boat out of Barnstable Harbor, and that boat can head towards Plymouth (Gurnet) Light and Duxbury Pier. A day's cruise can get you to Boston Harbor to see the grand old lady (Boston Harbor Light) as well as Graves Ledge, Minot's Ledge, and a host of others. Cruise the famous Cape Cod Canal while you're at it and see Cleveland Ledge Light. Come see us on the Cape!

Thanks Roland! Sound like a great adventure. Not this year though.
