I posted this webcam a while back, thought there may be others interested. Iwas supposed to be with Gary today shooting some pics- somehow I'm glad THAT didn't work out! Hope next week is better. I'm not opposed to winter photos, but lets get real.

that storm was all talk, we were suppose to get 6-12 inches of snow, we got about 3" of wet slop. I decided to go to Grosse Point hopefully to get some nice wintery pictures, it was raining by then and less snow than I had at home and getting foggy. I was hoping for a big storm since I had the time to travel on the weekend, well there still calling for another 3"-5" tonight and droping temps, maybe another trip to Michigan City tommorow.

Well, the weather here in SW Michigan today left a lot to be desired for photography. Nice snow this morning that turned to rain this afternoon with some fog and now back to snow again. Not much insofar as a winter storm and probably nothing to photograph. Oh well, Bud, maybe next weekend will be better!

We're waiting to hear, Mark, did you make it over to Michigan City today?

We're getting lake effect stuff here in SW Michigan this afternoon... we've had about 6" today to make life interesting after the rain yesterday that's now ice beneath the snow!

I did go to Michigan City, we did get nice beautiful snow here last night, even in Michigan City, but on the lake front the wind blew all the snow away making it look terrible, but I drove to the Indiana dunes for some winter scenery. There were people sledding right near the lake front on the big sand dunes, here's a quick panorama

Saw lots of colorful birds, none on digital though

This morning I heard the red-winged blackbirds for the first time and saw the first chipmonk. Daffodils and hyacinths are coming up. Temperature climbed to 63 before dropping over 20 degrees in an hour. Still falling and up to a foot of lake effect snow is predicted north of here. We are hopefully far enough south to escape the brunt of whatever comes. Hey it didn't snow here all winter. Certainly don't want it now!

It was very warm here in Massachusetts today, about 65. Most of the day when Dan and I were outside, we only had little sweatshirt jackets on and no hats!

Nice, Mark, the snowy road scene definitely gets my vote for a Christmas card shot!

Still snowing here in Kazoo... about a foot on the ground since last night and still coming down...

The snowy road type of picture was the type of pictures I was hoping for, it was like that everywhere (snow piling on branches) execept the lakefront because of the high wind, I never even bothered to get a camera out at the lighthouses.

Nice pictures Mark! From looking at the webcam above, the snow looks deep! Does anyone know how much snow they got?

We had warm weather here Saturday in Cincy, but today we are having the coldest weather of this winter season. It is now in the single digits and it heading northeast Bob!

Thank You your Holiness and congratulations on your elevation to Sainthood.

We ended up having the spotted owl under glass that night, very tasty, nearly as good as Tim's roasted Bald Eagle recipe.

After I was reviewing the rest of the pictures I noticed that I had pictures of the male and female red bellied woodpecker, the male has a full red stripe on the head.

Nice Mark. We had very few birds at the feeders this winter, probably due to the lack of snow. A few days ago we had a lot of finches but haven't seen them again.

Yesterday it snowed all day, today it was almost 70, same tomorrow until the cold front moves in, high Sunday in the 20's. Is this roller coaster ever going to end? No wonder the birds are messed up!

In the for whatever it's worth department... Bud and I are going out to shoot tomorrow. They're calling for rapidly droppipng temps... 50 in the morning to 30 by late afternoon and wind gusts to 60 MPH... Not sure what that translates to in wind chill but it sure ISN'T warm! Hope we don't lose Bud in an icecube out at the lake! More later...
