Here is your chance to own an Erie Land Light Artist Proof. We have decided to hold a fast and furious opportunity drawing for Christmas. Here's the scoop:

• Opportunities will be $5 each or 5 for $20
• Payment may be sent by check or John will be along with some PayPal buttons.
• I will hold a drawing at noon eastern on December 20th so that I can get the piece into the mail that afternoon (Priority Mail). This will allow most to receive it by Christmas. (Wouldn't this be a great Christmas gift to yourself?)
• We must sell at least $100 worth of opportunities by 12/20 or the drawing will be delayed until we have reached that amount. Don't think this will be an issue, but we just have to have a disclaimer.

Checks need to be made out to me and mailed to:

John,

It's not a big deal but there is a mistake on the page for purchase of the chances. At the bottom of the page it says "Chances are $1 each or 5 for $20."

It's listed correctly at the top and most would be able to understand the typo- just want to bring it to your attention to make sure the link for Paypal takes the correct amount- which it does as I just bought my chances with no problem.

Thanks, Dennis. I fixed that.

I also removed the caveat about needing to raise at least $100. We will exceed that with no problem; thanks to the early buyers.

This is an opportunity to own one of only 12 APs for one of the rarest Harbour Lights ever made.

Think how sweet it would look sitting in your curio or on your shelf!

Seems like a lot for such a small edition! [/b]

This has been posted before; I hope I get it correct.. John had Harry produce 12 AP's with the order of 500 lighthouses as a surprise gift for the committee members (one each) who all worked on this project.. Even Dave wasn't aware he was getting an AP of the ELL for all of his hard work.. The number 12 was the standard number of AP's being produced at the time on all of the lighthouses, so there are a few extra available now for raising funds for the support of the Forums and or supporting lighthouse restoration..

Paul's got it right. In addition there is ONE Paint Sample -- which has some painting differences from the final one. Somewhere down the road, we'll auction or raffle that one too.

Dave asked me to post an image of the AP flag so I did a combined image with my number 57 flag and I also am posting an image of the bottom of both lighthouses showing no label on the AP..

Thanks, Paul. I had been asked if there was any significant differences between the AP and regular versions. Paul has shown you the two differences. Of course, while there were only 500 of the ELL to start with, there are only 12 APs so they are very few and far between.

Sales have been great, and I would like to thank everyone for participating. Those that have not yet decided to participate, there is still time.

Well, high noon came and the drawing was held. Thank you all for your great participation - 183 opportunities were placed into the drawing. The tickets were stirred, stirred again, shook up and then the winner was drawn: congratulations to Cliff Olson of Massachusetts who will be adding AP #8 to his extensive collection.

Off to the Post Office to put Cliff's winnings in the mail.

Congrats to Cliff! He's always a great supporter of lighthouse projects and has a pretty neat pin business when he's not in the Carribean.
