I just read that the Midcoast Maine Lighthouse Challenge will be on June 29th and 30th this year. The annual lighthouse cruise will be Friday June 28th out of Port Clyde. I plan to be there with my husband and son. This will be our fifth year!! Hope to see some of you there. There are still some details to be posted. I have posted the web page below.

Thank you so much! I have been searching for a way to see Saddleback and there is a cruise during the challenge that sees it. AND we are there during the right time!

I am not sure where the cruise is headed this year. We saw Saddleback last year when we departed from Rockland. However this year we will be leaving from Port Clyde. Two years ago when we departed from there we were headed towards the Boothbay area. Since the waters were so rough we were not able to enjoy the lighthouse that we were scheduled to see. We even had to eliminate one lighthouse because of 6-8 foot swells. However, not all the details have been posted.

Well, I guess I will have to wait to see where the cruise goes, but I have emailed that I want 2 tickets. If the challenge cruise doesn't go there, maybe we can find an affordable charter. We will have to hope for good weather. The Windjammer Festival is earlier that week also.

Some years there have been other short cruises to some of the offshore lighthouses. Usually they will be posted on the website. Also starting last year, if the weather was too rough the cruise was rescheduled for Sunday night. I plan to take that Monday off of work just in case.
