Plan Now to Join us for Our 2nd Annual Maine Lighthouse Museum Celebration Weekend
July 27-29, 2012 in Rockland, Maine at the museum, located at One Park Drive

We will kick the weekend off on Friday at 6:00 pm with a wine and cheese reception just prior to a JOHN MOCK CONCERT. John Mock is an artist and the sea and its coasts are his muse. From New England to Chincoteague to Ireland, the Atlantic’s beautiful coastline and quaint villages, its wooden boats and whitewashed lighthouses, continue to inspire and inform John’s art. He captures in music and in photographs the heritage of the sea.

On Saturday, we will have a combined Book Signing/Craft Fair from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Craft Fair will include the Maine Lights Collection, Mary Carver, Linda Graham and Linda Sherlock demonstrating and selling their beautiful crafts, At the Book Signing, we will have Noted Children's Author Angeli Perrow, author of "Many Hands", a Penobscot Indian Story, winner of the 2011 Lupine Award, "Celtic Thunder", "Lighthouse Dog to the Rescue" among others, C.S. Lambert, Author of "Sea Glass Hunter's Handbook", "A Passion for Sea Glass", and "Sea Glass Chronicles" and Sara Hunter, Author of "The Lighthouse Santa" and maybe more authors.

Then, starting at 5:00 pm we will welcome you to a Giant Live Auction including many nautical and maritme related items for you to bid on and also a silent auctin for the smaller items that have been donated.

On Sunday, we will have a Fantastic Buffet Dinner at 12:00 noon to be followed by an Interesting Power Point Presentation by the "Friends of Flying Santa". This promises to be a great, informative presentation!

Plan now, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Trade Winds Motor Inn, directly across the street from the museum. Just mention that you are going to the museum events and you will get the special rate of $99 per night for a standard room or if you would like a balcony room you will get a 15% discount. Call the Trade Winds now at 800 834-3130. Don't wait as these rooms will go quickly!

Check us out on Facebook!

My best,

Update on the Bodie Lighthouse repairs.
After a four-year restoration the lighthouse first order Fresnel lens will be relighted April 18. Will be open to the public April 19. Guided tours up the restored tower. Cost to climb approx. $8.00 for adults $4.00 for children, seniors. Great news.

I have created a new, separate post in this forum for this great news. If there are any responses to the Bodie Island news please post them there.
