Much too quiet on the forums these days...... something to ponder over.

OK, with the Founders Collection being pieced out over the years through various offerings, numerous finds of some great pieces in the HL warehouses during the "cleaning-out process", and now the latest, selling of the display pieces from LHD store display cases... the end is near (or already here, depending on how you look at it).

But, there is still 1 mystery left (in my mind)..... the illusive HL458 West Quoddy (AP) that has been a "sleeper" for sometime.

I think I know where 3 of the 12 are located.. I believe one was awarded in a contest before Tony left, I think Don has one and one is still in my Open Edition cabinet waiting to be packed for the move to Northern KY..

As for the rest I was told that the box with them in it went missing from Don's office and hasn't shown up since.. Some day you might see them appearing on eBay, if they do just know that they might have been stolen.. Not Good!!

I am going to assume it was never produced, because it is not listed on the HL product history sheet

I can't recall, was this one of the pieces that was auctioned off during the Alaska reunion?

It's been a long time since someone said that to me! It seems I've been in the forgotten mode for some time now :(

Now does anyone remember who's bid won this piece? Was it Mr. Foster??

2 questions, when there already was hl431 West Quoddy - feb. 1st 2001 (release) Why did they decide to create hl458 West Quoddy in what would have likely been an 04' or 05' release so soon after the hl431

And why did they scrap the project ? was it because they were only a few years apart ?

If you recall the West Quoddy HL431 was just the lighthouse and not the keeper’s house. It was small and plain. Hl wanted to make it larger and more desirable collectable. But when the price tag came in, the cost was much more than anticipated and they decided to table the project.
