I compiled this list of variations, changes and countries of manufacture for HL 139 and up, GALS, GLOWS and LLOMs. I have listed them in the order of HL numbers and this may not place them in the order of issuance (i.e #405 Cape Lookout was prior to #175 Cape Lookout). I have not included Anchor Bay or any of the other Harbour Lights products nor have I included items that could not be bought (gold Pieces) or special edition pieces offered to a limited group. I have also not included thumbnails, ornaments and spyglass pieces. This list is just a starting point and I'm sure I will get some correction (maybe additions). I hope that if you see some errors (I'm sure I made many mistakes) you will tell me so I can correct or add to the list.

HL366 Bishop and Clerks. The first, (possibly only??) 550 flags said "Bishop and Clarks" Would that qualify on your list??

Roland - That would definately qualify. Thank you for mentioning this. I will add this to the list. Do we know if they ever corrected this mistake because if they did correct I would also like to add the corrected spelling. Does anyone know?

Daniel - I've added this to the list and thank you. Do you know of a correctly spelled version of HL370 Carysfort Reef? Also, do you know of a correctly spelled version of HL366 Bishop and Clerks and a version of HL396 Chicago Harbor SE Guide Wall with "IL" instead of "LL"?
In fact, does anyone have any input on these 3 pieces or any other pieces?

Don't know for sure but I suspect there were never any more ordered of Carysfort, Chicago Harbor and Bishop & Clerks after the original 550.

She called me back this afternoon and said that as far as she could see, only the initial order of 550 was placed and recieved for each one. This means there are NO CORRECT flags for these lighthouses available, only the incorrect flags on each of the three..

a question about the charter members anniversary piece #519, as I recall there were at least 2 different colors on the boat (possibly just the trim of the boat) does anyone remember how many different colors there were and what were the colors ?
And also Rich, the #502 Stonington Harbor Lighthouse had two different water colors from the Malaysian and China pieces (the colors were similar to your customized Wisconsin point and the original Wisc. point)

Daniel - Were these truly variances or were these boat colors the same on all the HL528 and HL519 pieces.
Mark - Do you have both of the HL502 Stonington Harbor pieces that show this difference in water color? If you do could you send me a picture of the 2 pieces. This is the first time I've heard about this.

Mark - I just examined my Malaysian (S/N 0140) and China (S/N 3281) and they both have the same shade of blue water. I sure would like to see a picture of your 2 Stonington Harbors with the different water colors. This would be a true variance.

Rich The #519 was produced for collectors that had membership back to 1995. They were the only ones that could purchase the 519. To make them special from the 528, Harry Kim and one other Artist hand painted the different colors onto the boats. Then they signed them. They were purposely painted to be different from each other, so I would consider them a variation.

Daniel - I have the HL519 with red trim on a light brown boat. Kim signed it. I didn't realize that there were 2 other colors. Do you know what color Harry signed and who signed the other one.

Rich, I took a picture of both Stoningtons years ago, If I can find it I'll post it. 90% of my collection is boxed up, making it difficult to locate both pieces but that may be an option too

Rich I think Harry signed the white one. I don't remember the third person. It wasn't a name I knew so I didn't remember it. All this information is in the forum somewhere. I gave a comprehensive description all about when it happened and many of the collectors listed theirs with who signed it. The big problem is that with the new forum the search engines is impossible to get it to work. It’s a shame all the info on this forum and I don't know how to retrieve it.

Daniel - Thanks for coming up with the other name. I'll go ahead and list HL519 as a variance and add the different water colors on Stonington Harbor as a possible.

There is a difference. Could it be like the HL155 Bald Head where it is noted that the China Version had more vivid colors? It's funny because my Malaysian and China versions are exactly the same. Could my China version have been painted in Malaysia and had a China sticker put on it like some of the early lighthouses when they were painted in California and finished in Canada?
As I now compare my Malaysian and China Pieces side by side, using Mark's pictures, I can see where the stones and roof on the China version are much darker then the Malaysian version. The water on my China version is also a little darker then the Malaysian version, but, not by much. The China version's flowers and grass are also much darker. I personally believe that the Reference in John's book that the China paint job being "more vivid" is how I would classify this.
Any thoughts on this? Should it be listed as a "Variance" or noted as "Vivid Colors" like the HL155 Bald Head? On page 427 of John's book under Bald Head he notes that China versions had much more vivid colors.

I made notations for HL502 Stonington Harbor to the effect that the Malaysian version has "light Blue Water" and the China version has "Vivid Colors and Dark Blue/Green Water".
I also added some additional GLOW versions that were revised and corrected a typo for HL519 Pt. Fermin listing "Red, White and Yellow Boat Trim" instead of "Red. White and Blue Boat Trim.
I haven't heard from too many members on this list, but, what I have heard is all GOOD information. Are there any other additions, corrections or changes I should add to this list?
