The rare L.E. St Augustine Red roof version. For those that don't know what I am talking about. There was a small release of around 150 of St Augustine’s that had the correct color of the roof (red) at the lighthouse entry building. All the rest have the incorrect color of brown.
It is interesting to note that the early brochures for the St Augustine show the red roof while the lighthouses that were released had the brown roof . It wasn't until the production number starting with the 3300's that the red roof version was found which are Malaysian made.
It was because of Rich I got this one. He saw it on eBay and brought it to my attention. This example is what makes this Forum so valuable, that we have collectors helping collectors.

Thank you very much Dave. I have decided years ago not to collect them all but to specialize in the southern lights (mainly Florida) and the first fifty, Collecting AP's low numbers and variations. Just because HL stoped making lighthouses it does not mean we have to stop collecting and the good news is that collecting the secondary market HL is know reasonable.
