I just had a look to see where John's picture of this one is...its on there. I also saw that he has a new boat trip for 55 euros that includes Fastnet, the Calf and Bull, and several other lighthouses....including this one!

It makes me think of North Carolina, but I can't place it.

Laura, it reminds me of the Keeper's Qtrs at Bodie Is, but I'm thinking it looks more like WA. I can't recall if Bodie's has double front doors or not.

It does front and back if I recall correctly...but defiantly 2 front doors.

Different roof color, trim color, type of windows and rail from 2006 Bodie, and from my angle there would be a black striped LH over the roof. It does have a similar look with roof line # of windows, porch etc. Probally same keeper house blueprint. Washington was my first thought.

Bodie is what came to my mind first also. Railing is wrong, and you can't see the lighthouse behind it. I even checked Lookout and Hatteras...Nope.

No Laura, that was the building that houses the motor & cable for the cage that travels over the water to get to the LH.

Starting at the top...

It looks like they have gone to LED lights at the X X lighthouse. When I was there in 08 they had a green 250MM or 300MM plastic light. That looks like one of the modern LED ring lights.

Hmmm, I looked and you are right (you usually are) the optic was changed recently. Now, do you care to name the lovely lighthouse?

when I saw the base I knew I saw it, now to figure which one! lol

This was the first one we walked right up to in Ireland. Irish Lights building is nearby, and you can see severel lighthouses from this spot.
