Yeah that is us the three at the rail. I'm the on wearing the tan hat. An old Harbour Lights hat for those keeping score. We were waiting on the heli for our trip back. They took a load of cargo back instead of us.

I wanted that shot but my angle was wrong. Good shot.

This has got to be one of those NY,CT, RI LHS, Moby - In the series of Plum Island, Captains Island, etc.

I think you are right Bob. I think it may be Plum Island, since the roof looks so bad.

I really like that style of lighthouse. I have seen all of them except Great Captain's, though I have only been right up close to Morgan's Point and Oldfield. Great shot of the erosion protection. I will get one up this evening.

Anyone know what happened to East End Lighthouses? Their website is gone.

that's the backside of Fastnet Lighthouse. The round stump is all that is left of the original tower.

Exactly right Eric! The tide is definitely lower in those pictures. The original Fastnet was a sibling of Calf Rock, and it was replaced because of the destruction of the Calf. Mr. O'Driscole, the last keeper at the Fastnet, told us about the storms that would sweep waves completely over the new tower. The evening before we went out to Fastnet, we stayed at Heron's Cove and Nancy and I could see the light at Fastnet from our balcony. We had a great boat for the trip and you can see just how close we got. John Eagle does a great tour!

That last one, Laura, you should transfer the photo to canvas! WOW!

Thank you Bob. That is very nice to hear. I edited that one in Photoshop Elements, and I always wonder if I lighten things too far. I like to see the details and my eyesight is not so great.

Great photos, Laura, , Your "eye" is certainly better than mine was when I was able to get out lighthousing! Though I don't play I really enjoy this site and hope you, Bob, Eric, Moby and the other "players" keep it going! THANK YOU ALL!!

Wow !!! Great pics of Fastnet !!!

While we wait for Eric to post the next mystery lighthouse, I thought I would show you Fastnet from the shore (actually that should be the Fastnet). It was the afternoon before the boat trip and I was the only one who HAD to take a picture. You never know about the weather, and this might have been my only view. The first is unedited, the second as good as I could get it.
