I got a new camera - a Canon. This has a great advantage of being very quick to turn on - my old one would take as much as half a minute and sometimes I couldn't anticipate that I would want a photo so quickly.

We went on a back to back cruise to Bermuda and the Bahamas out of Baltimore on the Carnival Pride. Unfortunately, the Pride had a terrible trip the cruise before ours and did not get to Baltimore until after it was supposed to have left on our cruise so we lost a day, and we also left Bermuda early because of Tropical Storm Sean.

I had planned to get more photos of St. Davids' lighthouse, but this was as close as we got

We had seen this lighthouse before from the bus in 2007

We took a private tour with a guide named Duke, and he took us up to Gibbs Hill lighthouse

We were a little too close to get a good angle

Bob's picture of me - it was windy

This is Duke, our guide

I did also get a photo from the road on the way back to the ship

Previously the best I could do was something like this from a ferry or ship

The next day in the Dockyard area (Kings Wharf) I came across the 1960 base of the North Rock Beacon which has an interesting history, but I can't find where it is on the map. I just know it is the northernmost point and is 9 miles north of Flatts Village.

We came back to Baltimore and left to go to the Bahamas. I got some photos of the Hog Island lighthouse from the ship.

I also got photos of the lighthouse-like structure west of the harbor - just to the left of the black crane

And Government House - the lighthouse is the cupola on top of the pink building on the hill

This is the water tower at Fort Fincastle and also the Nassau Harbor Control Tower

(You have to call in to this tower if you are coming to Nassau on a boat to get permission to enter)

Then when we got to Freeport, we went to see Pinder's Point Light

I forgot to say - Gibbs Hill lighthouse is cast iron. I wonder what all the little squares are on it.

You can climb it or have tea at the gift shop. We didn't do either.

Since we left Baltimore at noon, I did get some pictures of the harbor lighthouses in the daytime

Fort McHenry (flying the 1812 flag)

Lazarette Light

Red White and Blue marker where F S Key's ship was anchored when he wrote the Star Spangled Banner

Key Bridge and Ft Carroll

Fort Carroll
