I was shuffling through some of my lighthouse 'stuff' and came across a list of existing lightships. I think it was in the Baltimore reunion package. I scanned the paper list and turned into a Word doc that you can download from here. I updated the file with Eric's information on the Umatilla. I also added a link in the file to the USCG Lightship Sailors International web site. There is a nice explanation of lightship hull numbers and lots 'o links! Enjoy! Rick

I made a couple of updates including a few interesting links to the Last Lightships paper. You can see the latest version here. Enjoy! Rick

Rick, You can update the "Present Location", section on Umatilla the year 2007 to 2011, we saw the lightship and its very sad condition on one of our excursions during the HL Alaska Reunion cruise.
My opinion it is literally rusting to pieces.

The "Swiftsure" hasn't been in Kirkland, WA for a number of years. It is currently located on Lake Union in Seattle. It is still owned by Northwest Seaport.
Also, the "New Bedford" sunk and was subsequently refloated, then sold and dismantled for scrap a couple of years ago.
