Thanks to a trip for work and the kindness of Labybug (from these fora) and her husband Al, I finally added the state of Washington, and a few lighthouses there, to my list of places I've 'been to and done that'.

In this day and age of airline fees for this that and the other thing, I like to travel light. These are all shot with my cell phone.

West Point Light -

West Point Beach -

Lightship Swiftsure -

Point No Point Light (in the rain) -

Skunk Bay -

Mukilteo (and ferry) -

Sincere appreciation to Darlene and Al for making a short visit so memorable.

Rick

Bright Eyes,

Sometime back I posted a primer on my method for getting pictures up on the forums in this thread.

The key to posting pictures is getting them 'online' someplace that can then be linked to by the forum software. I use Dropbox for my pictures. I think that Apple has something called MobileMe that might work. Although you need to already have a MobileMe account. They are transitioning to iCloud sometime this year.

I don't know if Google has something similar. Google email gives you lots of storage space, but I haven't investigated to see if you can link to a picture that you have there. Google also has Picassa, which is specifically for pictures, but again, I haven't looked to see if pictures stored online by Picassa can be linked to by other programs, like our forum software.

Bright Eyes,

And, thanks for the note on the pictures. I have that beach shot set as the desktop on my PC and really like it.

Thanks for the instructions for posting pics...can you come over to my house???

When our group was at the West Point lighthouse, I remember seeing all of the driftwood on the beach! Wanted to take the driftwood home, but.....

Have a pic of the Washington State Ferry passing Mukilteo too.

I wanna go lighthousing in the Northwest!!!!

Bright Eyes,

Well, Michigan is another state that I have to get to and see some lighthouses. But that trip isn't on the horizon yet.

Any posting/sharing of pictures starts with uploading them to someplace on the Internet. That place can then be linked to and shared.

If you are comfortable with Google's stuff, try their Picassa. You can use Picassa to create what it calls 'Web Albums'. Once you do the, Picassa will upload them to Google.

Once uploaded, you can link to your web album from the Forums. It isn't the same as seeing the pictures inline with the forum posting, but for as many pics as you have it is probably a better solution.

See the post in this Forum that Roland made today titled 'More Lighthouse Photos'. He posted a link to a web page with lots of pics. You'd be doing the same thing with Picassa.

Good luck!

Rick

Rick it was our pleasure -- always happy to share our lighthouses with others and especially our friends from the Collector Forums -- Al & Darlene
