My heart goes out to the families and friends of those people murdered in Norway! The heartache is almost too much to bear in one who doesn't even know a single soul touched personally by this tragedy! But I am a mother who has lost one of my own, & while the circumstances were different, the loss is the same! May they find peace!!!

Reading the online news stories today, the guy they have in custody is a real whack job in the worst way. Can't imagine what kind of a point he wants to make attacking an island camp of youth. Bad enough that he blows up the government building, but going after the youth?? The original stories I had read didn't know the extent of what he did on the island.

What is truly unbelievable is a statement in the article that "The court will decide at the hearing whether to keep the suspect in detention pending his trial." Far as I am concerned, the only decision should be whether to lynch him immediately or wait until next week to try, convict and hang him. How could they consider in any stretch of the imagination allowing him to be released?

This is going to be a very trying time for all the families who have lost a member (or perhaps even more than one). And, it is also an incredibly sad time for all of Norway.

Dave,

It was reported yesterday and today that the maximum sentence for any crime in Norway is 22 years and that an individual can get time off for good behavior.

If he's convicted he'll be out before he's in in 50's more than likely.

Dennis
