I do believe I remember meeting somebody named Bob at the Lighthouse and getting a great personal tour.. I also remember a deer trying to get in your car with you when we were leaving..

Paul is on the road, so we could use some more players here.
Any guesses???? Repeats are fine now, in case you hadn't noticed.

Hmmm...a clue. This is from Lighthouse Friends and slightly modified. By the early 1930s, erosion had put the _________ Lighthouse in danger of falling into the sea, and in 1932 a new tower was built further inland. The old tower was left standing until the new thirty-one foot steel tower was completed in June of 1932. Just six years later, a hurricane tore another big chunk out of the bank, and after the storm the new tower was inches away from falling into the water as well. The following year, a series of massive jacks lifted the thirty-five ton tower and moved it even further inland to its present location. It was placed on an eight-foot tall concrete base so that ships could see its beacon over the top of the keeper's house. The move only took one day, and the light continued to shine throughout the entire move.

Sorry, no idea from my brain, either. I don't have time to research it until Saturday. Hopefully, someone can come up with the right answer. Nice windows, BTW, Laura, though pretty small.. :-)

Well some of work for a living. And then some of us work for an airline that likes to send you from one side of the country to the other one day and out of the country the next.
I see you used the Kish Bank. That was one I had thought of using.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I've clumbed that light. In fact the last time I was up there a flock of Penguins were walking along the beach. No it was not a herd of birds, it was a group of about 10 Nuns in their full length hobbits.

Also no idea. Is this a New England lighthouse? East coast? Great Lakes?
The windows were a great hint, but I've not found them. Can you give us some clues?

Laura, I was told by the docents because I asked the same question. The problem is I forgot what they said.
But I think it had something to do with the water supply for the steam fog horn back in the day.

Good ol' Cape Disappointment. That place sure lived up to it's name. I was supposed to have clumbed it, but the dang lock wouldn't work. That was the second time that has happened to me in my lighousing.

I know those stairs, but I also know that building isn't located at the lighthouse I visited. There must be a near identical twin out there. "Out there" being the opportune words.

From my sister. A Pixie took her there. I couldn't get away from work. You're up Eric. I wanted to add...the large building is supposed to look like a chapel, but it disguises two water tanks. I assume from during WWII.

A few minutes earlier as the last rays of the sun reflected off of the lens. A moon that is only a day or so away from full rises behind the tower.

Why would the trees trow you off? One of the best photos of Bodie Island is through the pines. These photos were taken the same evening. I was the only one there and stayed from sunset to full dark shooting the lens as is came on for another evening.
