I know I should just stick to showing my hands in the images.. This was also shot in 1999.. Sue did a nice job of framing the image! We did a ton of lights on the Chesapeake with Ken Reese on that trip and the boat's captain of course..

Very nice window and stone work...even the iron bars look great. NO idea, well, I had some but they weren't right.

It wasn't either of my 1st two choices that I thought it might be, no bars on their windows..

THE REVEAL

That is a gorgeous lighthouse. I was hunting all over, but not in the right state! Is the pretty little girl your granddaughter? I can't answer though, someone else will need to take it.

And that's my Julia who always says "yes" when I ask here if she wants to see a LH. She's not posing here...just being silly and having fun. I'm trying to keep her in the frame.LOL

The LH is now open on weekends 1-4 pm. And you can see the fresnel and models in the back doorway of the Fort Visitors Center.

I wonder why they built a lighthouse near telephone polls ?? ?

Ha Ha Stan. Don't you think the lighthouse was built before we had phone wires?

It is like seeing all those pictures of St. Simons Island with the house in front. When we were there back in '08, a man told me that if I walked down the sidewalk I could eventually see the lighthouse w/o the house or wires. Got a pretty good shot.

No all I had to do was look up to my right and into the cabinet by the entry way and on the Christmas Lighthouse shelf.. I should have got it with just the red window.. I will blame the glare off of the glasss, of course if I would have gone over and turned on the light in the cabinet, it would have been staring right at me..

This will give it away. It was raining so hard I could only take pictures from inside the car. Fortunately, we could move that around. I still got pretty wet.

I am sorry but I think this is a little out of place at a US Lighthouse..

Laura, I picked this light to do next because it was sprinkling the whole time we were there. The storm clouds really moved in and the sun was going down, which I could only tell by how much darker it kept getting..

I didn't think it never rained on you. You do seem to have good luck with the blue skies though. It might just be that you have been to particular lighthouses enough times that you can pick the pictures that have the blue skies. Is this a Great Lakes light? Exterior is in great shape but the inside wasn't.

Not a Great Lakes lighthouse.. These were taken in 1999 when they were just starting to restore the tower's insides.. I picked these images because of the rain.. When have been back 3 or 4 times since..

Wow, I will have mystery light withdrawal..

Just kidding, Laura I will survive as I am getting things ready for a major change in the Brady household.. I finally convinced Sue to get rid of her PC and go Mac!!! We will be an all Mac family after all these years.. She had a PC at home because she had PC at her work..

A great thing about her being a retired Professor Emeritus, she gets all of her programs free from the University bookstore.. That includes all Microsoft, Adobe, and other major software contracts that are held by the University..

We will have to have a program on her computer that will let us run a PC educational game for the girls that they don't offer for a Mac.. So I guess Sue won't have total PC withdrawal..

LOL I just don't have all my lighthouse pictures on my computer at work. I email them to myself when I know I will need to put them up during the day. I guess I need to build myself a stash.
Sounds like a great deal on the programs. I hope the switch goes well. They gave me a new computer here at work and installed Windows 7, while everything else in the office was Windows XP. I went crazy for 2 months until they gave up and switched me back. Anything that required the network - like printing - did not work well. Hopefully things will go better for Sue.
At the moment I am very pleased with myself. Just made reservations at Calico Jack's for Labor Day weekend.
I get to climb Cape Lookout!

Sue just uses the computers, I do all of the lifting, plus transferring files to a new Mac is a piece of cake; be it from a PC or another Mac.. She has been using my Mac when we are on the road for years so it shouldn't be a problem for her switching..

It just makes it a lot easier for me to network the 3 Macs than 2 Macs and a PC, plus maintaining and updating them will be a breeze from now on..

Our next mystery light...

I know I haven't seen sideways bars on the windows on the inside of a lighthouse, that just looks strange..
