I got a surprise today!

Had to drive over to Panama City, FL yesterday to take the Dog to Joe’s Brother & Sister-in-law’s because they are going to keep our 4 legged son (Golden Retriever) for us while we are on the road for the next two months. And being that Joe hasn’t been able to see Cape St. George Lighthouse since it was rebuilt (was just a pile of bricks the last time he saw it, when we were down there cleaning bricks several years ago). We resided to stay the night and drive on over to see Cape St. George this morning before heading home. Mary the Sister-in-law has heard us talk Lighthouses for years, but never seen one herself. So we took her with us this morning. And being that she has never seen a Lighthouse we wanted to give her the grand tour and show her the other lighthouses between Panama City and St. George Island on the way.

As we are about to approach the Port St. Joe Lighthouse, I’m telling her about it being a private resident and how it doesn’t have a lantern room on top anymore, but the owner has plans to rebuild it one day soon. Low and behold this is what I see !!!

After Port St. Joe it’s on down to Cape San Blas, then over to St. George. Here’s a picture of Joe and Mary at Cape St. George.

Wow Danny finally got the lantern on Port St Joe. groupwave

Shortcake hope you had a good trip.

I so need to get back up there. The last time I saw any part of CSG was at one of those brick cleaning weekends.
