Are the three lights being specially made for the June cruise being announced in January? I thought I read somewhere that we would know what they are in January but could not get till June.

Ketchikan Lighthouse Excursion is Guard Island Lighthouse. The Juneau excursion is Point Retreat & Sentineal. The last bus tour is Ogden Point Breakwater.

tongue Originally heard they were going to be announced in January, but that probably changed. Sounds like Paul has a set of AP's for pictures.

Maybe the next Legacy will shed some "lights"? (pun intended) whistling

Sorry I read it wrong. Thought you wanted the name of the lights we were seeing. SO sorry. Feel stupid.

nonoNothing to feel stupid about. I can see how, if your more focused on lighthousing then collecting, you could read Hilarys question the wrong way.

I'm thinking we won't know until we are on the cruise. I do not remember being told ahead of time the exclusives that were being made for the last reunion.

Tony says the focus right now is on the Winter releases! Buy 'em now.

Those booked on the Cruise will receive a 4 color brochure with photos and ordering information on the 3 Alaska Cruise exclusives. This will be sent in early March.

Does anyone know when we must be at the ship on June 10th? We are trying if we should come in a day early or just fly in and go to the ship directly.

I believe that boarding is by 4:00pm, maybe wrong.
But the reason I wanted to say something is if you fly in the day of leaving, what if the airlines LOSE your luggage frustrated What would you do??? I would at least fly in the middle of the day before, that way if something happens at all, you would have some time to fix it. Another nights stay would be cheap if you had to buy all new stuff and on board at that. Just a thought.

That's something to think about. I thought the itinerary said, "Ship Departs for Alaska 4:00 pm!" It also mentions the "Muster Drill" at 3:15 so I would think we would board a lot earlier. I'll email Rod and see what he says.

Thanks,
Judy

Rod just emailed me and said that the cruise line suggests arriving by 1:30 pm on day of departure, June 10th and departing no earlier than 11:45 am on our arrival back on the 17th. Hope this helps those of you who, like us, haven't made their flight or hotel reservations yet!

I suspect sales might be down a little for last summers and this winters releases. Somethings gotta give for those on fixed or limited incomes. But I'm sure we'll have a few years after the Reunion to catch up.

I'm sure those who are booked are looking forward to the March brochure. Wonder why it only has 4 colors??? pillowfight

4 color brochure is a good thing.. It means millions of colors available in combination.. 4 color = full color...

I can’t confirm what will happen in Seattle. But I do know that here in Mobile, Carnival Cruise Ship sails at 4:pm and boarding begins at 12 noon. And if your not on the ship by 3:30…. You’ve missed the boat!!! When they say sails at 4pm, that’s what they mean it SAILS (pulls away from the dock) at 4.

Typical SOP:
Boarding is usually at least 4 hours before departure. You may not be able to get to your room immediately but the dining room is uaually open with a buffet. There's no customs since you're staying in the USA the whole time. The cruise lines are very organised and you'll be amazed at how quick & organised they are. You'll get tags for you baggage before the trip which you'll just drop off at the dock and they'll magically appear in your room. Take a carryon bag for anything you may need until you get to your room and valuables.
I always doubtful about trusting someone else but it works. Similar procedure on depaeture. You just put your bags out side tour door and the a ppear on the dock or bus on your departure.

One correction to Bob's post, we aren't staying in the USA the whole time, remember to bring your passport as we will be going ashore in Canada at Victoria, BC.. The customs part will be done on board the ship I believe..

Just to let everyone that is driving to Seattle for the Cruise, you can now make your parking reservations at
SeattleMonthly@RepublicParking.com
This parking is right at the pier we will be departing from, the Bell Street Pier Garage (#028) If you Pre-Pay the cost is $135.00 = less than $20.00 a day. I did do some checking around the Seattle area ( Hotels, Motels, other Parking Lots), and found this to be at the lower end of cost with great location, an security, With FREE Shuttle to Ship. Don't know how full they get but I went ahead an booked it today.

I think I'm driving to Seattle as we will be there a few days before and more than a week after. We have two daughters and families up there and many other relatives so will be catching up with family and friends before and after the cruise. I had lived in the Seattle area since 1959 until 2004 when we moved to the Phoenix,AZ area. Really, really looking forward to that cruise.

We are also driving out and took advantage of the pre-purchased parking space at the garage across from the terminal. If you go to the new mapquest and put in the address you can take a real time drive down Alaskan Way to I believe Wall Street is the parking garage entrance road.
