This photo was fun to do. I planned to use a tripod, and cursed on my two hour journey to the lighthouse at the cloudy skies. When I got there around 4pm, I was about to have a treat from nature during the next 45 minutes. I'd never been there to see the lights come on so it was all a surprise to me as it unfolded. I think this was the 2nd or 3rd year that the LH had lights but I was on a mission to make it my 2010 Christmas card. Surprisingly to me I didn't need the tripod until I was ready to leave. The 2.8 lenses brought in all the light I needed. I was very pleased with the results, and I appreciate your feedback.

Very Nice picture. Wonderful. When we were on the East Coast for the 2006 Harbor Lights Event in Portland, Maine, due to time contraints we found ourselves viewing some lighthouses at night. I tried to take pictures but they were all just blurs. I see I have a learning curve, and need a new camera before June. I am keeping them because I need something for my Passport as that's the first time on the East Coast. It really encourages me to see these wonderful night pictures other people take. Thank you. Kathleen

Happy New Year to everyone on the Forums. So thankful I discovered the Forums in March 2010. We moved to Arizona from Seattle area in 2004. The Pacific Northwest has many lighthouses to see and lighthouse related things to do, so it's nice feeling connected again through the forums. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful insights, information and being friendly.
