Sorry this wasn’t done after the April releases as promised–life got in the way. All entries posted between October 28, 2007 and August 12, 2010 are included in the revised Seahorse list.

Many thanks to John Chidester, our webmaster, who upgraded the list as follows:

There are lighthouses where the seahorse location is not known and the word HELP is in the far right column. If you click on the word HELP, you will be taken to this site where you can post the location.

John’s also made searching the list easier in that if you strike the Control (Ctrl) key and the letter F and enter the name of or HL edition number of an item you’re looking for in the search box, the cursor will jump to that item if it’s on the master list. If the cursor doesn’t move, that item is not yet on the list.

Please be sure to include both the name of and the HL edition number of all pieces you list here.

Please use the link shown below to determine if the location is known before posting it here to avoid duplication. If you spot any mistakes, post them here and a correction will be entered to the list at a later date.

HL311 St. David's, Bermuda seahorse location was a tricky one.. I did the split screen with it circled to show it's location..

Hold sculpture such that LH door faces you. Right-facing head and curled tail are on back wall of fence that's between walk and keeper's dwelling. Nose almost touches orange/green shrub at corner of dwelling.

Looking at the flag, Seahorse is, on left side of break wall, 1 ¼ inches from the end of the pier, below the smaller white tower, facing to the right, down in the trough of a wave

This is a nasty location, I looked right at it several times and didn't see it until I took it out on the back deck in sunlight and then looked under the tree one more time..

Yep! One way to beat the heat is to search for seahorses in front of the A/C!!

Keep up the good work. . . .

Sandy

P.S. I agree with Sue's description--it bears a strong resemblance to one of the Lee sisters, either Ug or Home.

HL 388 Gurnet (Plymouth), MA--hidden in cliff below bicolored bush behind twin lights. Left-facing head & upper body are same tan color as cliff.

HL 390 Crooked River, FL--1-1/4" left of flag, same tan color as cliff. Left-facing head and whole body can be seen.

HL 391 Delaware Breakwater, DE--4-1/4" left of flag is a hole in the water. Inside that hole is the belly of a seahorse. Her head is facing left, but isn't very clearly defined.

HL 726 Sturgeon Point, MI--1/2" right of ID emblem. Same tan color as cliff. Left-facing upright head & body are under snow overhang.

HL 387 14 Mile Point, MI Seahorse is just to the right (1/8 ") of the flag on tan base.

HL 389 Key Largo, FL Seahorse is to the left of the flag about 2 3/4 " in the tan base.

HL 484 Whaleback, ME Start from the flag and go left around the lowest layer of the stones in the tower to the first brown stone NOT part of the tower. Seahorse is blue in color and just to the right of THIS stone, half in the water.

Bob Taylor

PS: Has Whaleback been moved? On piece HL127 it was in New Hampshire and now I notice it is in Maine! Was it stolled?

Bob

HL 269 Monomoy Point, MA--Right-facing, crude head only is inside chimney closest to row boat in yard. Hold piece so that LH is to your right, front entrance is toward you. Extremely small in size, best-viewed with a very good magnifying glass. This picture does not show her really defined and I'm hoping Paul can provide a better picture with his powerful lens.

This picture may give a better view:

NOTE: There is another sighting posted by me, but not confirmed by anyone, that may or may not be a second seahorse location. That one is:

Under boat. Curled up so only right-facing head is shown against front sawhorse that boat rests on.

That second one is also very small, very crude, and almost impossible to view without a dental mirror. It's on the left side of the boat where the oars are located.

I'm hoping one or both sightings can be confirmed by someone.

Here's a few more from the recent Alaska Reunion Set and 2011 Society pieces....

HL820 Sentinel Island, AK -Seahorse is located on rear of piece (opposite side with tower and lantern room) within the "blocky" shaped rocks near the water. Top half of seahorse is located directly below a small brown shipping crate and a small conifer tree which is located below where the sidewalk steps drop down to the ocean.

HL821 Point Retreat, AK -Full body of seahorse is located within crevice of rocky cliff face to the left of the 20th Anniversary Logo and directly underneath the flag.

HL822 Guard Island, AK -Top half of seahorse is located within the water near rocky cliff on rear of piece to the left of the flag under tall conifer trees.

HL568 Fishing Battery, MD -Upon facing the front side of the lighthouse, the seahorse is located on the left side on the piece at the intersection of the water and the land, directly under the smaller of the two trees on the piece. Only the top half of the seahorse is visible.

Time for a new round of Seahorse findings from the most recent 2011 Summer pieces....

HL399 Thatcher Island (Cape Ann), MA - Seahorse is located within rocky cliff approximately 1-inch to the right of 20th Anniversary logo immediately above the water line. Since this is such an easy find, I wonder if Harry has a second seahorse hide on this same piece that is harder to find!

HL837 North Point, WI -Seahorse is located on rear of piece (with tower on the left side of house) within the rocky cliff below the pink colored bush located between the 2 brick sidewalks.

HL727 Squaw Island, MI -Seahorse is located within the rocky cliff approximately 3/4-inch to the right of the electrical jack and approximately 1-inch to the left of the "Christmas 2011" Ribbon, below the snow line.
