The Harbour Lights site for Seahorse locations has been updated through the last posting here. There are a few limited editions and many open editions (GLOWs) where your help is needed.

Please use the link shown below to determine if the location is known before posting it here to avoid duplication. If you spot any mistakes, post them here and I'll correct the Harbour Lights site at a later date.

There are two silver balls on one side of the model. At the "seam" separating two of the granite blocks that form the base, the left-facing seahorse head and neck are visible. She is centered on that crack above the wave--first picture in the second row of the enlarged set .

The actual Wisconsin Point sculpture does not have silver balls as indicated above. They are the same color as the brick and the granite blocks. The correct description is shown below and was found by Kent Babb, who posted the find on May 11, 2008.

Try this one... with flag facing you...tip the piece to the right. look directly under the flag in the rocks. Under neath 2003. More defined.

I don't collect GLOWs and have to depend on others to determine if the location is correct. Let's see if one of the GLOWs collectors confirms the location that you've found.

Here's a photo to show the location. I was hoping for a clearer close up, but my battery is low. Macro doesn't work well with low battery.
Will recharge it and try to get a better shot.

Tried to rotate the picture, but failed. Hopefully one of the saints will do it.

If you look to the left of the flag- right next to the numbers 2003...is that not a seahorse?

I think you may be correct--a right-facing head and body and left-facing curled tail can be seen in your photos. If the pictures showed the piece sitting on a table, the seahorse would be lying on its back with its head facing the bottom of the flag.

Again, I don't collect open editions and can't determine if you are, in fact, right. Hopefully one of the CF members who does have access to Cana Island, HL 460, will check and let us know by posting here.

Can anybody help Dave locate the seahorse on Montauk Point, HL 405? His posting is above 5lights (Deb's).

I've located the seahorse on Cedar Point, OH (HL 357) and Windmill Point, VT (HL 358). I'll post the locations in a week or so to give others a chance to post first.

Apparently my idea of a week or so gets longer and longer as I age. . . .

Anyway,

HL 355 Waukegan Harbor, Illinois 2¼”right of rowboat. Left-facing head and neck only, colored to look like a cresting wave, abut the deck plank.

HL 356 Crown Point, NY. 4½” left of flag. Left-facing head and body are embedded in cliff. Head touches grass overhanging cliff. 1" diagonal to single window at far end of addition to house.

HL 357 Cedar Point, OH. Very crude, left-facing head and body are on cliff between lilac bushes behind coaster. 2½” left of flag.

HL 358 Windmill Point, VT. Left-facing head only in cliff below pink/green bush and above water crest at edge of lawn on right side (where two trees are positioned) of sculpture.

HL 359 Bristol Ferry, RI. ¾” left of flag embedded in cliff. Left-facing head and body. Head touches grass beneath multi-colored bush under tree.

HL 360 South Haven, Michigan. HELP!!

HL 694 Admiralty Head, Washington. A very small and very poor excuse for a seahorse is embedded in the cliff beneath the multi-colored bush in front of two chairs and table left of lighthouse. She faces left, her head and body are obvious, but there is no fan or curled tail.

My 9-year-old stepson thinks he found the seahouse on the Galveston Jetty 338 light. I will post a picture below. It's a little tough to see, but those with the Galveston Light, go check your's and let us know what you think?

The location is - with the title flag in the front, look in the water on the far left-hand side, at the far corner. It's in a little "hole" in the water. Please look at the location in the picture (if I upoaded it right).

I don't have that piece as yet and can't confirm its location by sight. However, your picture and description appear to be correct. Maybe someone with the piece will make the confirmation.

On the narrow end that does NOT have the steps, at sea level towards the right side. Almost looks like a floatie toy bobbing in the water against the foundation.

Thanks for the response Sandy. Hopefully someone can confirm it, if it's correct. Just for the record, if it is conformed, please give credit to my stepson - his name is Scott Kanski. (He will get a huge kick out of seeing his name on the Website.)

Here is another one I am pretty sure I have found that the site has listed as undiscovered: Sea Girt 459.

I have a pic below, but I believe the seahorse is just to the left and above the a/c hole, in the grass. I (Bill Loveless) will take credit for this one if nobody else has found it.

We have a few other lights that are listed to not be found yet. We'll look for them and post if and when we find them.

Can't say about the Galveston Jetty Light. Your picture isn't close enough for me to tell. And my piece is packed away in the closet under so many others!

I found the seahorse on the Loon Island piece.

I won't post location for a few days to give more time to those who want to find it on there own.

Horseshoe Front Range, PA, HL 559 (2008/'09 Society Exclusive): Seahorse is left-facing, 1" right of flag, beneath pink bush in cliff. She's same tan color as cliff and she's upright.

Well the next set of releases are being shipped and arriving in collectors hands.... Here are a few seahorse locations found on a few of those pieces....

HL361 Pottawatomie, WI: Hidden within yellow shrub between two tall trees, closest to the tree on right;
HL362 Ludlum Beach, NJ: Above flag next to bush and wooden retaining wall;
HL366 Bishops & Clerks, MA: Directly below privy on bell tower in water;
HL560 Horseshoe Rear Range, PA:Directly below stone path leading to brown shed within the rocks

*The Pottawatomie piece is absolutely outstanding! Nicely detailed.

HL #363: Cape San Blas, FL: only left-facing head and neck can be seen. Look toward rear of house at multi-colored bush that adjoins flag. She's looking at the corner of the porch--same colors as bush. Alternatively, she's 3-1/2" left of flag.

HL360 South Haven, MI Sit in a room that in not very bright (low lumination). Plug in the transformer and light the lighthouse. The seahorse, appears one inch to the right of the transformer plug on the white base, covered with ice, and is very very hard to see. The head is facing to the right, tail to the left. I was sober when I did this!

Boy! You have great eyesight!! I'm going to agree with your location siting and give you an "atta' boy" for finding it. The only change I would make is that it's located 1/2" away from the power receptacle. Good for you. Keep up the good work.

P.S. I'm also thinking there may be two on this piece. If you hold a ruler even with the top of the power receptacle and look at the 3/4" mark on the ruler, a left-facing head only is shown within the white ice.

Going to have to find out if this piece has two seahorses--anybody know?

The seahorse is located in the center of the large sand area between the house and the out building. It has very poor detail and is barely visible. I think this is what I am seeing,any comments are welcome

#268. After checking out your list on the other site, and going through all these messages, we discovered(hopefully), a very unusual seahorse
on this piece. According to your list, you are missing 3 of the 11.
The lavender bushes, behind the long side of the building, are in the shape of a seahorse!

I'm moving what's shown below here to keep this data in one place in anticipation of updating the Harbour Lights site at some point in the near future.

Your take on the lavender bushes to the left of the water tower on the Cedar Key, FL piece (HL 268) is absolutely correct!! Kudos to you and whoever else comprises the "we" who helped locate this. The right-facing head is the top of the bushes with its nose pointed to the corner of the building.

I've been unable to locate a seahorse on Sapelo Front Range, GA and nobody else has posted a find yet, but the hunt will continue. . . .

Paul Brady took these pictures of ten seahorses found on Cedar Keys and posted the link on a forum thread a few years ago. I’m going to take 50% the credit I gave to Rustyjax and his girlfriend back and give it to Paul because Paul did show the lilac bush seahorse in his pictures–#8 of the 10 shots shown in this link. However, I did not include that sighting in the numbered sightings shown in that 2006 thread.

I’ve added more detail to some of the 2006 locations, but am stymied as to where on this piece the 9th picture in Paul’s link is. Can anybody find the seahorse Paul photographed as #9?

Also, Eric (Weasel58) posted the locations I’ve numbered 6. and 11. in that 2006 thread. I vaguely recall Paul stating that he hadn’t seen the #11 location prior to Eric’s posting, but I can’t locate Paul’s statement.

That said, a number of people have said there are only ten seahorses on Cedar Keys based on Harry Hine’s statements. If #5 below is, in fact, a duplicate of #3's location and description, there are only ten. If #5 is not a duplicate and somebody can provide a better picture and description proving that, then there are eleven seahorses on the piece.

1. In the back of the building under the picnic table between the porch and the sidewalk. Head and curled tail face down.

2. Upright, faces right, just left of middle of cliff under water tower.

3. Upright, right-facing seahorse on back of lavender bush next to palm tree-- green in color.
Right eye and snout almost touch palm tree trunk.

4. Right-facing head & neck only are on top of overturned barrel next to water tower. Best seen if viewed between water tower and dwelling through a magnifying glass. Same color as barrel.

5. I believe this shot and the shot described in #3 above are of the same seahorse.

6. Look at the tower and then rotate to look at the vent on the short side of the building. The left-facing seahorse is to the left of the vent

7. Inside chimney on dwelling next to water tower.

8. The lavender bushes, behind the long side of the building, are in the shape of a seahorse!

9 I can’t locate this sighting.

10. Look in bottom tan palm fronds closest to dwelling next to lavender-colored bush in front of sculpture’s flag.

11. On the ceiling of the front porch on the long side of the building directly over the stairs.

My youngest is home for Christmas and we have been finding seahorses! Guess I just needed younger eyes. I was beginning to think the seahorses were figments or an elaborate conspiracy.

HL374 Frank's Island, LA. The seahorse is 3 inches to the left of the flag, in blue water, with it's head up under the green bush.

HL369 Buffalo South Entrance, NY. 3/8 inch to the right of the flag in blue water with it's head looking down.

HL372 Pass a L'Outre, LA. From the flag go counter clockwise to the blue water. Seahorse is just in the water, head above, blue in color.

Bob, since it is almost completely on the other side of the sculpture on the HL372 Pass a L'Outre, LA. from the flag, it might better described as in the edge of the water just below and a little to the right of the out-building..

So I'm just now trying to find seahorses on my recent HL purchases -- not the ones in the thread above. Where is the information posted on the seahorses that all the eagle eyes in this thread found? I just went to the official HL site and it had the seahorse archive as updated in 2007. Help! Where is the most current list of the seahorses?

Last update was 2007. All the sightings shown on this thread will be incorporated into the next update--should occur after April's pieces are received.

HL372 Pass a L'Outre, LA. Looking at the back of the oil house, the seahorse is just below it, in the water, and slightly to the right.

HL 370 Carysfort Reef, FL The seahorse is 2 and 1/2 inches to the right of the flag in the blue water.

HL 373 Port Washington Breakwater, WI The seahorse is 1/2 inch to the right of the flag in the blue water with its' top half visible.

HL 371 Fort Carroll, MD The seahorse is on the water side of the piece, 1 and 1/2 inches from the left end.

HL 368 Harbor of Refuge - West End, DL The seahorse is 1 and 1/2 inches to the left of the flag in blue water.

The Seahorse is locatred 1 5/8 inches to the left of the flag and 1/2 inch up from the bottom in the waves. Only the head and upper body are showing.

Is she facing left, have curly "hair", buck teeth, and is located just about in the middle of your picture? Don't have my sculpture yet so I can't determine if I'm seeing correct location, but if what I've described is correct, she is a very homely specimen.

Well the 2009 summer releases are being shipped and arriving in collectors hands.... Here are a few seahorse locations that I have found on a few of those pieces....

HL376 Haut-Fond Prince, CAN: Upper 2/3rds of seahorse can be seen in water directly below helicopter;

HL562 West Chop, MA: Adjacent and right of flag underneath bluish color bush in brown sand;

HL725 Burnt Island, ME: Hidden within brown rocks at waterline, below tower and to the right of power jack.

HL803 Tybee (Knoll) Cut Front Range, GA From the flag go clockwise around the corner, then go 2 inches more. The seahorse is on the side of the piece, tan in color with its head touching the green bush.

HL379 Point San Luis Oispo, CA From the flag go clockwise 2 and 1/4 inches. The seahorse is on the side of the base, tan in color, with its head touching the green vegetation. Looks uncomfortable!

HL377 Malapu'u, HI Exit the tower and go to the top of the red stairs, turn right and jump over two vertical hedges on the hill. The small albino seahorse has its head touching the hedge at the bottom of the fence. Difficult to see.

Yup! That sure does look like a seahorse! NICE!!!
