I have had the worst luck with electronics lately. Last year bought the apcaer cp300. It was great. It copied onto DVDs woth RAW and it worked great. Well last Dec I bout extreme III from dandisk and tried to download with apacer. It read error and would not work. emailed the company they said not compatable. Ok went back to Costco and bought couple Ultra II like the ones I used before and they dont work on apacer. Emailed for months to apacer they keep telling me not compatable. It seems that anything I bought in 2007 will not work. anger I cant use the machine anymore they wont do anything to help. I said that they cant sell it if you cant use one of tha most popular memory cards and thay say so sorry. Its frustrating. I asked for the CEO to email him and the guy laughed he is china.

Fran, has anyone said why the unit would not work with vintage 2007 cards? That makes absolutely no sense.

Heather is traveling and we got her a Canon IS3 to use. I sent her a 2 gig card to supplement the 1 gig ones she has and her computer will not read the card direct with the built in card reader. Wants to format it. Since she doesn't have the camera USB cable with her I had her try the one from her portable hard drive and it does work so she is able to load direct from the camera to the computer. Another one that makes no sense. Don't you just love all this high technology?

I came home from a visit with Jenifer and Michigan. I had a great time and her kids are the best. We had a tough time burning my SD cards. So I called Sandisk. I explained my problem and they offered me to return, them maybe they are deffective. Later that night a supervisor called to talk to me and told me to send 2 back. I just got the replacements for 7 of them and now my Apacer works. vhappy

The Apacer is a good machine, mine has worked flawlessly for two years. Why more people don't use their system is beyond me. Backing up all my photos is essential, and the Apacer makes it as if I'm creating negative files of my shots. I can't see storing all my photos on my laptop or harddrive--it slows done the machine, and if there were ever a system crash, all my work over the past couple of years since going digital would be gone. The Apacer is a great solution for backing up.

And it is smaller to travel with. You dont have to take it out at security like a lap top. I have looked on the web and dont see it for sale any more. Wounder what happened there?
