Hi to all the forum members.
I got a digit cammera earlier this year. I am getting ready to manipulate some of the pictures in Paint Shop Pro before printing them. Here is my question, Do you hae a color printer at home you use? If so, what kind? Or, do you take them to be printed at a business? I would appreciate any info anyone can provide.

I have an Epson Stylus CX6400 color printer that is getting old (3-4 years) but still functions well. I use to enjoy printing my own pictures until I realized it cost more to do them at home than it does to have them printed at the local drug store or Walmart. Ink cartriges and photo paper can be pricey, to say the least. I download my pictures on to my computer and then put them on CD's. My son doesn't bother downloading the pics to his computer. He just takes his memory card to the local drug store and puts the card right into their machine. Your best bet is to wait to you have a lot of pictures to print (50-100) and watch for printing specials at the drug store. My average cost per print is usually around nineteen cents each. I can't print them at home for that especially if I screw a few of them up (wasted ink and photo paper). Drug stores refund your money for pics that don't come out the way you wish they would have. Make sense? Bob

I have a Canon i9900 that I use for singles in all sizes. Multiples in large amounts I'll buy online.

I used to print mine at home but I find it is much cheaper,(.15), to send them to * Kodak Gallery". It is also less time-consuming and they do a better job. I believe "Shutterfly" is similiar.

Come to think of it, I don't really ever even print my photos...
But when I do, I have an HP photo printer. Not sure if it's great, but it's one of those normal/photo printers, so it's worth it. I use that for everything.
I find that some of the drugstore machines don't print the photos to the quality that I'd like (and do it consistently). I even do 8x10s on my printer, and several are on my walls and look great.
Also, I've found that for HP printers, there's a great deal when you buy ink - for a few dollars more, you can get a kit with the ink and 100 or so sheets of 4x6 paper. I now have about 300-400 sheets of paper, so I don't worry about that anymore.

If I print photos, I use my Canon iP4300 with very good results But mostly I use one of the internet printing services, where you upload the pictures and they print them. Cheap and very good results!
