My trust old Minolta 35mm Just gave up the ghost and I want to get a new digital. I would like to get one I can continue to use my lenses and filters with. Minolta seems to be out of that business. Okay all you camera experts out there could you please give me some ideas and places to look for one. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried looking on Ebay to see if someone has the same camera that just broke?

I believe Sony bought out Minolta's digital camera line when Minolta stopped making cameras. You might want to look at Sony's products to see if they have any that match up with your lenses.

I have old Minolta equipment in my closet. Sadly Minolta changed their mount many years ago and none of my lenses will work. Its why I went to Nikon. You will need to find out if your lenses are still usable on modern bodies. If not, you have the option of choosing a new system. Starting from scratch can be a good thing.

I just bought a Sony A-100 DSLR. The Minolta (and Quantaray Minolta Mount) AUTOFOCUS lenses that I used with my old Minolta Maxxum SLR work on the Sony, and autofocus correctly. The non-autofocus lenses that I used with my ancient SRT-101 manual SLR are not useable on the SONY. But they weren't on the Maxxum either.

So far, the A-100 looks to be an excellent camera, and it's nice to be back to an SLR after a couple point-and-shoot digitals.

I hope this information is not too late to be useful to you.

Bruce
